ANNABEL ELLIOT TALKED ABOUT HER SISTER, QUEEN CAMILLA AND KING CHARLES

Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot had talked about the marriage of his sister and King Charles. There was a time when the affair of Camilla and Charles had shook the world, while Charles was married to Princess Diana.

Everybody had named Camilla as the bad person for the affair, and Charles had lost his reputation too, after their affair was surfaced.

When the affair was revealed, Princess Diana had said to Martin Bashir, “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

At the time, before Charles met Diana, he met with Camilla, through their mutual friend, daughter of the Chilean ambassador Lucia Santa Cruz. They had dated for a while, and their relationship ended when Charles went to Royal Navy to serve.

At that time, Camilla got engaged to her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles.

But as Chrles came back from the army service, their relationship with Camilla continued. Even though Camilla was married, and Charles married to Diana.

“Charles was not convinced he was doing the right thing in marrying Diana but there was no way out and, bolstered by the hope that things would be different once they were married, he put a brave face on it,” royal author Penny Junior said.

“I met [Camilla] very early on. I was introduced to the circle, but I was a threat, I was a very young girl, but I was a threat,” Princess Diana said in her book, Diana: In Her Own Words.

As time passed, people decided to forgive Camilla, and started to love her. Camilla and Charles are now married, after Charles divorced with Diana.

During that time, Camilla was afraid to leave her home, as she was receiving threatening messages, and she was afraid of the public view of her.

Royal expert Angela Levin had stated that, “It was very difficult for her, as she was portrayed as the most wicked woman in the world. She was constantly called nasty names like ‘rottweiler,’ and it must have come as a huge shock that people were so vile about her,”

“I don’t think Charles realised how awful it was for her. He was often away on engagements and working hard for the country and Commonwealth, and at the time, Camilla didn’t have protection officers because she wasn’t part of the Royal Family. But when Charles finally realised, he did get protection for her, which he paid for himself,” Angela Levin continued.

Camilla always received support from King Charles, and her sister, Annabel Elliot. Her sister Annabel is her greatest friend, which they grew up together, and Annabel had stood by her sister all the time. For more than three decades, Annabel had her own business in Dorset, Annabel Elliot Interior Design and Antiques.

At the 50th birthday celebration of Annabel, Charles and Camilla appeared together, and they became the center of attention.

“He always likes to be completely involved and know what’s being suggested,” Annabel Elliot said.

“He’s looking at every piece of material — ‘What’s this for?, Is that for a chair? Where’s that sourced from? Has it got nylon in it?’ He doesn’t like duvets.”

“She is his rock, and I can’t actually emphasize that enough. She is somebody who is completely loyal, and she isn’t somebody who has huge highs and lows,” Annabel had shared at the BBC! Documentray, Charles III: The Coronation Year.

“He brings to her everything. I’m not talking about all of this, but you know he has such a knowledge and interest in so many different things which she wouldn’t really have been open to if she hadn’t met him. They are their yin and yang really, they really are polar opposites, but it works brilliantly.”

Still to this day, Annabel and Camilla remained close to one another. Annabel is married with Simon Elliot in 1972, and they had welcomed three children.

“When I thought back to being two years old and watching the Queen’s Coronation on a tiny black and white television and there goes this golden coach with my sister in it. I can’t explain the feeling because it’s so surreal. This cannot be happening. It was quite a moment,” Annabel said.

“Going into the Abbey, I think I had that nervousness all the time, she’s quite a bit smaller than I am. I’m feeling: ‘Is she going to be all right?”
