Liam Jones from Scotland, is supposedly dead, after he got disappeared from the MSC Euribia cruise ship. 23-year-old Jones, who is studying social work in Dundee, was on a cruise trip to celebrate his mother’s birthday.
On March 16, as the cruise ship was on it’s way to Hamburh, Liam was reported missing. After hours of searching, as the operator had confirmed the news of a passenger going overboard.
Jones’ 20-year-old wife Sophia McPhee was shocked when she learned about her husband’s disappearance. “I feel so lost. He’s just…gone,” Sophia said.
The last message from Jones was that he was feeling seasick, and then the saddening details arrived.
On March 21, the officers boarded the MSC Euribia, when it arrived to Southampton, and started to their investigation. Currently, there are no details about how or why Liam went missing and overboard.
“We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time,” MSC spokesperson had stated.
Cruise Law News had shared from Facebook that Liam Jones is the sixth person who went missing from an MSC cruise ship in the last four months. A crewmember got disappeared from MSC Seascape in November 2023, and in December, two passengers went overboard from different MSC ships, the Armonia and the Preziosa.
Another passanger fell into the sea in February 2024, and luckily the person was saved and rushed to the hospital. In the same month, a 73-year-old U.S passenger lost their life after fell from MSC World Europa.
“Always find it so sad……..Sometimes you hear rumors on the ship, and sometimes it will be announced just the once. I just cannot imagine what the family are going through. Whether it was an accident or not is really not important, someone is gone……… my condolences.” A person stated.
A TikTok user @darastarrtucker shared some details about people go missing in cruise ships. She stated that the free ice cream is given out because of making space for a dead body. She stated that she had worked as a singer in a cruise ship a decade ago.
And for six months, as she hadn’t witnessed any terrible situation, she had some friends who had seen terrible things in their work life.
A friend of Dara said to her that one time there was a free ice cream party once to create a space for a dead body. As the TikToker stated, 4 to 10 people are dying in a cruise with about 2,500-3,000 passangers.
