The red bikini picture of Dame Helen Mirren went viral after it was published in 2008. The star actress was posing for her husband, Taylor Hackford, when a paparazzi took a picture of Mirren, in a private beach.
“I was 38 when I met Taylor, pretty late in life,” Mirren said in 2016. On their first meeting, Mirren was furious because Hackfor made her wait for “White Nights” audition. As she took the part on the movie, their relationship improved.
“I have to say that the thing I loved most about Taylor was his absolute, total commitment to his children.” Mirren said.
After 12 years of relationship, they got married when Mirren was 52, in 1997. “We got married in the end because we realized that we were going to be together forever,” Mirren said.
“I always said I have nothing against marriage; it just wasn’t to my taste, like turnips. It took me a very long time to come around to acquiring the taste. I just had to meet the right turnip.”
In the “Yellowstone” spinoff, 1923’s press conference, where Mirren was playing a woman who was married with Harrison Ford’s character, she talked about her marriage with Hackford.
“We’ve been married now for, I’ve completely forgotten how long we’ve been married for. But, you know, quite a long time.”
Back in 2008, when Mirren and Hackfor were on Italy for their vacation, the couple wanted to swim in private, and they found a private beach where they trekked over cacti. When Mirren gave a pose for Mirren, she saw a flash in the distance, and hide behind the rocks.

When she talked with her husband, Hackford called his wife “paranoid,” and three days later, Mirren’s pictures in her red bikini was published.
“I look at that picture and say, god, I wish I look like that. But I don’t.” Dame Helen Mirren said.
“I tried to suck my cheeks in. I tried to look… good.” Mirren said.
