WOMAN REVEALED THE REAL REASON WHY HER SISTER WHO HAD TWO CHILDREN WANTS TO FOSTER A TEENAGER
A sister told her story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. She explained that her sister, who is a mother of two, wanted to foster care a teenager. As she was horrified with the real reason of her sister’s action, she talked with social workers, and revealed the truth behind her sister’s intentions.
The OP stated that she will call her sister Jane. She explained that she stayed with her sister for two years. She has a niece and nephews, who are well behaved kids. Then she stated that her sister, Jane, tried to use her sister with, as OP stated, “She saw me as free labor, money and babysitting. Even when I managed to get a small part time job, she demanded I hand over nearly half my pay or get out.”
As she left her house, her sister started to talk about how she was struggling with the kids, and how she was unable to make a time for herself. She explained, “I babysit sometimes but I have made it clear, just cause I am off work, doesn’t mean I want an 8 hour day with my niece and nephew.”
Then her sister, Jane, started to talk about how she wants to foster a teenager. As the OP tried to gain more information, her sister explained, “She wants to adopt a teenager so she has a live in babysitter for her kids.”
Her sister said to her, “I want a kid around 16 or 17, you know someone who may have been in the system for awhile. They can share a room with your nephew or sleep in the garage.”
“They can help me with house work, chores, cook and help me with my business. Also babysit the kids so me and Bob can go out sometimes or have some alone time.”
“They’ll be so grateful for a home and won’t complain. I won’t have to pay them at all. And then when they turn 18, I can just sign up for another foster kid! A teenager will be so much easier than a little kid, they will be grateful just to have a roof, food, siblings if they have been separated from their real ones and clothes.”
OP was horrified with her sister’s intentions. She tried to stop her from fostering any innocent soul. As Jane didn’t listened to her, she tried to proceed with her intentions, and talked with a social worker a month later.
Jane also put her sister, the OP, on the list of interviewees about the fostering process. OP explained, “I immediately told the social worker why my sister really wanted to foster a kid and how she treated me when I lived with her. The lady thanked me.”
After OP’s meeting with the social worker, her sister called her crying, and stated that they rejecter her fostering, and asked that if she said something. After hung up the phone, Jane never spoke to the OP. But she sent some mean texts to the OP. Some of her family members are on the side of Jane.
As she asked that if she did the right thing, Redditors had praised her efforts to save an innocent teen to suffer at the hands of her sister, and stated how a horrible person the OP’s sister was.
