WOMAN RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE ON FACEBOOK THAT HER FAMILY WAS KEEPING A SECRET FROM HER
The TikTok user @laurabarcoe had shared a story from her account, about a family secret she found out through the help from a message she received on Facebook.
One day, Laura received a message from her childhood friend’s older sister. The older sister of her friend stated that she was incredibly drunk, but ended the message with a strange statement, “Your entire family has been keeping a huge secret from you.”
And strangely, Laura received the message while she was on her way to England to wisit her family with her wife, in three years. His wife was going to meet with Laura’s family for the first time.
She took a screenshot of the message she received, and sent it to her mother and asked what her firend’s older sister was talking about. Her mother promised to tell her everything once they arrive, for the barbecue party the family was organizing for Laura and her wife.
Laura learned that a man in Laura’s workplace, John, had forced himself on Laura’s mother, and she later became pregnant. When Laura’s mother talked with John about her pregnancy, John said that he doesn’t want to be a part of the child, and threatened her with her life.
Later Laura told her husband that she was pregnant, and her husband accepted the baby, and took the baby, who was Laura, as her own. Later, Laura’s mother and her friend Janet talked with John about Laura, but later, Janet and John started their relationship, and from that relationship, Tom was born.
Tom was the childhood friend of Laura, which Tom’s sister had reached out to Laura about the secret message. Laura always thought that Tom had a crush on her as he was acting weird around her, but she realized that Tom was only struggling with the secret he kept to himself.
As Laura’s mother had enough with John’s threats, she moved away from him, and that was the last time Laura saw Tom. Years later, after Laura found out the truth, she got back in touch with Tom.
They met again in England, and it was awkward in the beginning. But later they found out many common things, and bonded over time.
