WIFE OF TOBY KEITH GOT EMOTIONAL AS KEITH WAS SINGING ON THE STAGE AS HE WAS BATTLING WITH HIS CANCER DIAGNOSIS
Iconic country singer Toby Keith recently received his icon award from the People’s Choice Country Awards. Keith had stated that he has diagnosed with stomach cancer, and he had received chemoradiation and a surgery as a cancer treatment on the last six months.
Keith had stated that he needs some time to focus on his family and wife, Tricia Lucus, whom he had received a huge support from her.
Toby had met with his wife, while performing on some bars with his local band, Easy Money, while he was working on oil fields.
Toby was 20 and Lucus was 19 when they first met. They had married after three years of dating, in 1984. And during their marriage his oil business was failing so he had put all his efforts in his musical career as a country singer.
He had received his first platinum album in 1994, and from there he made his breakthrough.
“Should’ve Been a Cowboy” from Keith became a huge hit and it was the most listened song of the 90s.
As he was performing at the People’s Choice Country Awards, his wife Lucus got emotional as he was fighting with his cancer diagnosis and doing the thing he loves, music!
He was asked that how it was feeling to be an icon, and Keith stated that he is feeling old, since he was in the industry for more than 30 years. He had thanked everyone who stood by him and supported him.
He said that he was honoured when they called him to say that he received an icon award, as he added that it was a rollercoaster of emotions since he was struggling with his disease.
“I feel pretty good.” He said recently about his ongoing fight against cancer.
