WHO IS THIS LATE ACTRESS THAT HAD TO DEFEND HER MOTHER WITH A TENNIS RACKET AGAINST HER FATHER

She had lots of rough times in her childhood, as when she was 16, she had to defend her mother as she had a fight with her father, physiqually.

She once stated, “I grew up believing I couldn’t learn. I thought I was stupid, and I was insecure,” also, she was kicked out from the Catholic school she was attending, for wearing short skirts.
As she was happy, excited and nervous for her first date at the age of 16, when her mother was preparing her for her date with her beautiful dress, that she loved the most, with the arrival of her father, things went terrible and ended up with his father destroying her dress.

As she stated, her father was super drunk, and when he saw the dress, he had destroyed it. As he had moved towards her mother to harm her, she had attacked her father with a tennis racket to defend her mother, as she recalled, “I picked up my tennis racket and, with all my might, I brought it down on his head. [..] I did give him a concussion. And a lot of stitches.”
As she was afraid of her father, her father was afraid of her too. Because as she stated, “I got the attitude of, ‘I’ll show you. You can’t do this anymore,”
This actress that endured much is none other than the late Suzanne Somers.
As she was interested with actin while she was in high school and was taking parts at her school plays, Walter Winchell had seen her play, Guys and Dolls, and said to her, “You’re going someplace, sister.”

Later on, she became a huge name with her TV show, Three’s Company, where she had acted with John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, and Don Knotts.
“Creating her was actually intellectual. How do I make her likable and loveable … dumb blondes are annoying. I gave her a moral code.” She said about her role in the show.
As she had her breakthrough with the show, she was let go of the show when she wanted to get paid same amount as Ritter was taking.
“The show’s response was, ‘Who do you think you are?’ They said, ‘John Ritter is the star.'” Somers had explained.
