TY PENNINGTON WAS RECEIVED BACKLASH, AS HE WAS NOT ON THE SAME BODY AS HE WAS BACK IN THE DAYS, AND HAD ANSWERED THE MEAN CRITICISMS
58-year-old Pennington, is active on his social media account, where he creates funny content to his followers, as he dances to make them laugh, and his wife, on the background.
After his terrible car crash that nearly took him away, at the age of 27, he stopped his modelling career.
“Overnight my career seemed to explode… but alas, fate had other plans. Only one week later I would be in a horrible car accident,” he had explained.
“I hung up my one decent head shot, picked up my trusty tool bag and went back to construction and carpentry. 9 years later I would get a call to audition for Trading Spaces… and the rest is history.”
He worked as a set desinger in 1995, at the set of Leaving Las Vegas, and later his work on Trading Spaces, made him famous.
After Trading Spaces, he had hosted Extreme Makeover: Home Edition from 2003 to 2012, which brought him two Primetime Emmy Awards.
“Not gonna lie, my ego took a huge punch to the gut. It stung. And it left me SO confused. I began doubting my talent, my experience and my overall belief in myself. But the job was never about me! … Honestly, it WAS and always will be, one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.” He had stated from his social media, after he was replaced with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
He later had published his books, “Good Design Can Change Your Life: Beautiful Rooms, Inspiring Stories”, “Ty’s Tricks: Home Repair Secrets Plus Cheap and Easy Projects to Transform Any Room.”
He also had struggled with ADHD, and alcoholism, wich he went to rehab in 2007, and he stated, “Drinking and driving is never acceptable. I have pleaded no contest and will abide by the court’s ruling. I hope this experience can help others as much as it has helped me,”
On the last year, he had shared a video where he appeared shirtless, and the people who had seen the video had stated that he used to have a six pack, but now nothing but a large keg. He had responded to those comments, “…btw I’m pushing my stomach out but ok…”
He later on talked about his thoughts on getting older as, “What was an honest moment of just trying to make my wife laugh, was then picked apart by strangers- with a lot of views, comes a lot of hate! Comments like “disgusting,” “gross,” “omg he’s so old now,” “grandpa,” “he got fat…And I wondered, if I was still young and fit, would I be getting the same comments?”
“There has been such a force behind accepting all shapes and sizes and aging in the female community which is AWESOME (keep it coming) but maybe let’s give that same grace to men?”
“On a daily basis Im inundated with comments like ‘NOOOo what happened to him???!!!’ Someone even commented the other day, ‘lack of exercise’ which I wish was the truth! I have NEVER worked out harder in my life-7 days a week (this over 50 sh*t is no joke ). “What happened” is, it’s been 22 YEARS since I made my television debut! “
“No, I don’t have a six pack anymore or a luscious head of hair (with frosted tips ) but what I do have is wisdom, empathy, life lessons and at 57 years old, I’ve TRULY never been happier! Anyways, all this to say: I’m human and I have feelings. Yes, I am older but I think it’s pretty cool.” He continued.
