Johnson was 22, when he met the 14-year-old daughter of his co-star, Melanie Griffith, on the set of the movie, Harrad Experiment.
Griffith had revealed that she had a crush on Johnson, as she became an actress and producer, later on her life.
As Johnson was a handsome man, he had a reputation amongs the woman. Johnson had stated thar Griffith was acting like a woman, even at her young age, but the her youngness was a bothering thing for her.
Griffith had moved in with Johnson, as she was kicked from her catholic school, after she had questioned the religion.
After three years, when she became 18, they had married in Las Vegas, in 1976. After half a year, they had separated, and Griffith had stated that she was nothing more than a pet for Johnson.
But after a little while later, they had reunitied, as if nothing happened between them.
When it was 1983, Griffith had married with Steven Bauer, and got separated again, after two years. They had a son.
Johnson had married with Patti D’Arbanville, and four years later, he had a relationship with Tanya Tucker.
When it was 1987, Johnson and Griffith had reunited, as they had solved their problems. Griffith had believed that there is still a connection between them, as Johnson was with Streisand. Johnson was still with Streisand, as he had reconnected with Griffith.
In 1988, they had reunited officially, and it was real, this time as it seemed. But for a while, Johnson had stayed with Streisand too, since she was in rehab due to her cocaine addiction. And after he ended his relationship with Streisand, so he could be with Griffith.
Griffith was over the clouds, when she was pregnant with their child, and her mother, Tippi Hendren had stated, “He’s the love of her life,”
“This is God’s plan.” Johnson said about his baby. After the news of the baby, the couple had remarried. Griffith had stated for their marriage, “It will be till death do us part.”
“I’ll always love him. He was my first love.”
As they had married again, Griffith stopped taking parts with movies that are sexualising her, and she settled with her housewife role, which she was happy to be one.
“I’m a princess in a fairy tale.” Griffith said.
But their second reunion didn’t last long again. They had separated in 1994, as they stated that there were some differences between them.
As they had separated, they are stil having a cordial relationship, over their daughter, the famous actress, Dakota Johnson.
The former couple is close friends to their daughter, Dakota Johnson. She had asked her parents that if they were afraid that she was going to be in the movie, Fifty Shades of Gray, and Johnson stated that they were scared because she was going to have nude scenes.
After the movie received a huge success, Johnson was asked about the movie, and he stated that the movie was not for him, but he didn’t watched the movie, since his daughter was in it, with nude scenes, so he doesn’t want to see her like that.
