TEEN STATED THAT HE RUINED HIS FAMILY, WITH THE DNA TEST HE TOOK WITH HIS FATHER
A Redditor, had shared his story on Reddit’s r/tifu subreddit. He stated that he “destroyed the entirety of his family for only $99” DNA kits he bought from 23andMe.
The OP explained that with his father, constantly saw the DNA test and ancestorial background posts on the internet, so they wondered the percentage of ther same DNA, so they bought test kits from 23andMe.
As they received the results, he saw that with his father, he is sharing 29.2% DNA, and they were listed as half-brothers. And he was confused with the results, since he was looking alike his father. Then his cousin took the test, and saw thet she shared 24.6% with the OP. And she was listed as her half-sister.
As she made some research on the internet and the subreddit of 23andMe, on Reddit, he learned that his uncle is his father. As he was shocked, he spent an hour in his room, as he was frozen. Then rushed to his mother, and asked that if she had cheated on his father with his uncle David (not real name), which her face changed color. Then the OP explained everything that they took DNA tests and the rest. His mother begged him not to tell his father, and cried.
Then the OP called his cousin, and told everything to her. She hung the phone as she screamed. Then his father came, and asked what was wrong with his mother. Then he told his father everything too. The OP stated that his father waited for a while to calm down, then left the room and locked the door.
As time passed a little while, he saw that whole family started to show up at their house, as they started to fight. When his uncle, David, arrived his father had physically fought with him, as the OP stated. Then he learned that his grandmother had a heart attack when she heard the situation, and his father left with her to the hospital.
The OP went there, and talked with his father that the situation doesn’t change their relationship as father and son. Then his father told the story his mother said to him. At first she stated that David raped her, and when he wanted to go to the police, she changed her story, and when David arrived, they admitted their affair.
As of now, they are waiting for the court date, for their divorce. OP and his father is staying with their grandparents currently.
