Carl and his wife, Emma, always had an incredible support for one another. And they were living happily in their house, along with their son, Jake. It was a marriage of three years. Carl was a lawyer at a law firm.
As he remembered the day he saw his wife Emma, for the first time, it was a rainy day, as he was in a bookstore. She was standing in front of the bookshelves, lost. Carl was struck with love at first sight.
Then during their meeting, Carl learned that she was married before, but her former husband went missing, as she was left with unanswered questions. As she moved on, they wanted to create their own family.
As they created their own family, they were happy since they shared the same thoughts and dreams together. Carl was incredibly happy that he was with a person like Emma.
But their happiness cut short in three years, as one day a knocking on the door devastated Carl. When the door was opened, Carl saw a man he didn’t know, as his wife, Emma, know the man with a bouquet of flowers. It was Emma’s old husband that went missing. She screamed with joy, and hugged the man.
Then Emma introduced the man, Robert. Carl was incredibly distraught with the presence of Robert, as he was an intruder to Carl’s peace. Then Emma continued with their history. Emma’s description of their relationship with Robert, made Carl sad, as she was very fond of their relationship.
As Carl was confused with his emotional storm of confusion, anger, sadness and shock. Then Robert started to talk about the reason of his disappearance. Now Emma had to chose between the past and the present.
The days that came after the return of Robert, were silent. There were unspoken emotions in the air. There were small talks, but no long conversations, no love words were shared. But Carl was aware that Emma went to Robert for several times, but he didn’t said nothing, even with his anxiety about the situation.
As time passed, Emma decided to stay with Carl, as she wanted to stay in her present, and leave her past behind.
As Emma chose her son and Carl, their connection got fixed, the heaviness at the athmosphere in the house vanished. Their bond got stronger, as they wanted to move on with their happy life, as they returned to their lives, before Robert showed up.
