STEPFATHER HAD SENT HIS STEPDAUGHTER HOME WHEN SHE WAS ACTING DISRESPECTFULLY TOWARDS THE WAITER
A man had stated that his stepdaughter had acted recklessly towards the waiter of the restaurant that they had went, and he sent his stepdaughter back home. He had shared his story on Reddit, and asked people that if he was right to do so or wrong.
He had stated that with his family, they went to a fancy restaurant together. “I (42 M) was dining with my wife and kids yesterday. It included Hailey (16 F), who’s my step-daughter. We had picked a relatively expensive restaurant as we thought it’d be better to do things properly as we were going out together for the first time in a while.”
When the waiter of the restaurant dropped something on his stepdaughter, and ruined her clothes, she acted overreacting, and she kept continuing even the waiter had apologized. “During dinner, while the waiter was serving one of the dishes, he accidentally tripped or something. I think he might have lost his grip, I am not sure. But some of it fell onto Hailey’s clothes, ruining it. He apologized immediately, but she got livid at him.”
Then she called a curse word towards the waiter, and her stepfather, the post owner, sent her back to their home. “She proceeded to call him a “bastard”, saying “Why are you a goddamn waiter if you can’t even watch where you are going? You are already paid low, so I’d have thought you’d be more careful.” She was shouting, and almost everyone was looking at us now. I was shocked and asked her to apologize for that.”
“She refused by saying she does not have to as he had ruined her dress. I asked her to apologize repeatedly, but she did not listen. In the end I told her that I might not be able to force her to apologize, but that I can definitely refuse to pay for her. I asked her to get out of the restaurant. She began screaming and protested. I did not relent, and the end result is that she had to leave.” the man continued on his story.
Then his wife had stated that he was the overreacting one as he stated, “My wife lashed out at me, saying that I overreacted/that although what she said might have been wrong, it did not warrant asking her to leave.”
Here are some of the advices Redditors had given the troubled man.
