REVENGE OF PRINCESS DIANA, SHE WORE A DRESS TO TAKE REVENGE, ON THE NIGHT OF DIRTY LAUNDRY

At the fifth season of The Crown, the show recalled the moments which happened 30 years ago, in the Royal Family. The fifth episode of the fifth season had implied the black dress of Princess Diana, which she wore to take revenge from, then, Prince Charles, after Charles revealed some secrets in an interview.
The dress was designed by Christina Stambolian, and Diana bought the dress before she was challenged in her marriage with Charles, in September of 1991.
Christina stated that Princess Diana asked for a dress, for “something special,” as she said that the length of the dress was unimportant. Then Christina proceeded with a revealing black dress, as Diana accepted.
Two people worked on the dress, as it took sixty hours to complete it.
As Diana didn’t wore the dress as soon as it arrived, she wore it in 1994, when she was at the Serpentine Gallery, which the dress was named, “the revenge dress.”
A royal fashion expert, Elizabeth Holmes stated that Princess Diana was aware of the damage that her dress would give to the Royal Family. Through the dress, Diana asserted her dominance on her freedom, which the fans had loved her courage.
Amy and Sidonie Roberts, the costume designer of the show, The Crown, had stated that the dress was black, because Diana wanted to represent that she was mourning the death of her marriage with Charles. She started her freedom, away from the Royal Family.
Christina stated that she also wanted to impress a man, and that man was not Charles. Christina stated that she is believing Diana wanted to show herself to James Hewitt, as Christine explained, “I am a very beautiful woman. I am sexy. Look at what you are missing.”
Christina had received 900 pounds for the dress, which was charged to Charles’ account.
She wanted to show to the world that she is not that type of woman, who would cry in behind closed doors, and instead, she showed that she was freed.
On that night, when Diana wore that dress, Charles had an interview, where he revealed that he was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
Charles stated that they tried with Diana, but failed to repair their marriage. He also stated that, his affair was a, “deeply regrettable thing to happen.”
Michelle Tauber, the Editorial Director of People, stated, “On a human level for Diana, you can only imagine how upsetting that would have been, not only to hear that but to know that now the world has heard it. Effectively, Charles has aired some serious dirty laundry.”
In 1993, Charles and Camilla spoke on the phone for six minutes, as they talked about their affair, while being married to different people.
Martin Bashir, journalist, stated, “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
Then, Princess Diana thought that the Royal Family was thinking that Diana was the problem, but Diana was a fighter, as she stated, “I’ll fight till the end.”
When Diana was asked that if she would like to be the Queen, she stated, “No, I don’t, no. I’d like to be a queen of people’s hearts, in people’s hearts.”
