REBA MCENTIRE TALKED ABOUT HER BAND MEMBERS WHO PASSED AWAY AT THE PLANE CRASH THAT HAPPENED 32 YEARS AGO

This year is the 32nd anniversary of the plane crash that took the lives of 68-year-old Country legend, Reba McEntire’s band members.
As she received her breakthrough between 60s and 70s, McEntire was the best singer for four consecutive years. And she had her star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But she had lived through rough things in her career, as she lost her mother, at the age of 93, due to cancer.

McEntire wrote in her social media, ”She had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go. The cancer might think it won the battle but we’re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for her to go home to Him,”
“She left knowing how much she is loved and we all know how much she loved us. We’re all going to miss her but we have so many wonderful memories,”
And 32 years ago, on the 16th of March, McEntire lost seven members from her band, and her tour manager, at the plane crash after their concert.
After their concert in San Diego on March 16, 1991, the band members were heading Fort Wayne, Indiana, for their next stop at the tour.

Ten miles east of the aimed airport, the plane crashed, and took seven members of McEntire’s band, and her tour manager.
In 2012, McEntire talked with Oprah, about the crash, and she stated, “The tip of the wing of the airplane hit a rock on the side of Otay Mountain, and it killed everyone on the plane,”
“When we were notified, Narvel (Reba’s manager) went and met with our pilot, and he told us what had happened. And Narvel came back to the hotel room where I was — it was two or three o’clock in the morning — and he said one of the planes had crashed, and I said, ‘Are they OK?’ He said, ‘I don’t think so.’ I said, ‘But you’re not sure?’ He said, ‘I don’t think so.’”
As she was saying, “Narvel was going room to room with a phone and calling …”, she stopped as she started to cry.

“I’m sorry — it’s been 20 years, but it’s just like — I don’t guess it ever quits hurting,” she said.
“But I can see that room. I can see Narvel walking back and forth.”
And in 2020, McEntire had paid tribute to her friends, through her social media, as she stated, “29 years ago today, I lost my friends in a plane crash. The timing of Mama’s passing with that anniversary seems appropriate,”
“I know they’re all in Heaven together and taking care of each other. Let’s keep finding ways to take care of each other down here on earth and never take one moment with our loved ones for granted.”

Many fans had commented under her post as,
“Reba I’ve always loved your music, our shared horse background, and now following you on Insta. Prayers for you and your mother 🙏🏻”
”Their love for music and the stage gives us all the strength to go on,”
