PREMATURE BABY, HAD FOUGHT FOR HER LIFE, AND GREW AS A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY
Dr. Bill Yoxall, from Clinical Director of Neonatology at Liverpool Women’s Trusts, explained that premature babies, “get cold very quickly because they are tiny and have under-developed skin and inadequate stores of subcutaneous fat to keep them warm.”
Darcey, was a baby that was born as a premature, and she had spent months in the NICU.
She was born three months earlier than her due, she was weighing merely 1lb 5oz when she was born. Experts at the Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester, had worked very hard for her survival, and since she was a fighter too, she had survived her condition.
She was born in 2016, and since she was a premature baby, she had spent 64 days in the NICU, as at first, the doctors didn’t expected that she would be alive not much.
She had defeated the great odds against her, and in 2021, she started her school.
Gill Clegg, her mother, a carer from Littleborough, Greater Manchester, a great person for the mother of Darcey, since she had stated, “Darcey is amazing. She was so tiny in that little sandwich bag, I didn’t know if she would make it. But now she has defied the odds and she is perfectly healthy. It’s so emotional to see her start school. We’ve got her uniform and everything ready to go.”
“It was a bit of a shock but a lovely one,” Gill said.
“It was terrifying,” said Gill about her giving birth to little Darcey.
“I wasn’t given much hope that she would make it. But she came out crying.”
As she lived a healthy life, the people who knew her story had praised her success over starting her school, from the internet.
“You make our world a better place. I love you more than the billion universe,” said her mother as she shared her pictures with her school uniform.
“Beautiful young lady,”
“So cute,”
