NEW UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF MARY LOU RETTON, WHO WAS IN THE ICU, FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE
55-year-old Olympic champion, Mary Lou Retton was fighting for her life in the ICU, after she suffered from pneumonia.
Her family had stated on Tuesday that she “is not able to breathe on her own.”
Her daughter, Shayla Kelley Schrepfer, had updated her mother’s condition with a video she had shared.
“As far as an update goes, she’s still fighting. It’s going to be a day-by-day process.” She said in the video.
“She’s been treated with the best of the best professionals here and it has been such a blessing to have their hands on her.”
“My sisters and I are overwhelmed,” she continued.
“We didn’t even realize that there are so many people out there that love her just as much as we do.”
“It’s been a really hard time for our family, and so, just seeing that people love her like that and showing her that support has just meant the world to us and to her, so thank you.” She concluded.
She also thanked to the people for their support, and explained how the family is grateful for those who are praying for her mother.
