35-year-old single mother, Helen, was suspicious of her 14-year-old daughter, Kate, when she started to brought expensive items to their home.
For weeks, every Friday, Kate was coming back to home, with luxury items, as new iPone, specially designed shoes, expensive purses. When Helen had confronted with her daughter about the items she was bringing to the house, Kate had stated that she was borrowing from her classmate, Ann.
But she didn’t believe her daughter, as her story had flaws that Helen had noticed.
Then she had left her work early, as she had followed her daughter on a Friday. She went to the exit of her school, and got shocked.
As Kate had left her school, she had approached to a car, to her father, Henry. Henry had abandoned them, as Helen was pregnant to her daughter, many years ago. He had stated that he was too young to bear the responsibility of a child, then left without a word.
Helen had rushed towards them, as she wanted to confront with her daughter and Henry. The father had stated that he was sad that he left his daughter, and wanted to make amends for his previous bad behaviour towards his family. He was so miserable that Helen wanted to her no more, and took Kate back to their house.
Then she had a conversation with her daughter, and explained her the story of how her father had abandoned them.
“He told me he didn’t want the baby. He said he had more important things to do — like building a career, traveling, and enjoying his youth.” Helen said.
Kate had cried, when she learned the truth about the past of her parents. She had stated that her father had told her another story, and she believed him. Henry said to his daughter that Helen was keeping Kate away from him.
Then Kate apologized to her mother, as she stated that her father had tricked her. She had stated that if she would knew the truth, she wouldn’t accept the gifts of her father.
On the next day, Kate come back from her school, with $3,000. She explained that she sold the gifts of her father, and used the money she received for decorating their house with flowers. Then give the rest of the money to her mother.
Helen had hugged to her daughter, and they both cried, as they were emotional with the events that occured at their lives.
