MOTHER-IN-LAW WANTED FROM DAUGHTER-IN-LAW TO SERVE THEM DURING CHRISTMAS DINNER, AT THE PLACE SHE IS WORKING
A newlywed wife had shared her stort in the Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. The Redditor, u/TravelnPookie, had created a post at the subreddit, where she captioned, “AITA for expressing to my in-laws that I don’t want to be their server for their family’s Christmas dinner?”. The OP stated that she is recently married with her husband.
So for the Christmas, OP’s in-law’s are coming to their new house for the celebration, and spend time together. As the OP was happy at first, she lated learned that her in-laws wanted to eat out their Christmas dinner, which she was okay with it.
At first, she offered them to cook them a feast, but they had other plans. Without noticing the OP, her in-laws had called the place OP was working at, a restaurant which was closed for Christmas period, and stated that their daughter-in-law is working there, and they wanted a family dinner at the place.
The in-laws stated that they wanted their daughter-in-law to be their server during the Christmas dinner, and they added that her Christmas gift will be a well earned big tip.
OP shared, “I politely declined because, let’s be real, being excluded from Christmas dinner while working as their server? That’s a hard pass from me.”
As she declined, her husband had supported his wife, and uninvited his parents, as he wanted a peaceful Christmas with his wife, as OP stated, “We’re now focusing on creating a Christmas atmosphere that’s positive and stress-free, sans the drama.”
