MOTHER-IN-LAW REFUSED TO HELP THEM WHEN HER SON AND DAUGHTER’IN LAW WERE LEFT HOMELESS, AND YEARS LATER, SHE CAME AT THEIR DOOR TO SEEK HELP
A daughter-in-law had shared her story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit that with her husband, they were in a bad shape in terms of finances. It was in 2019 when they were struggling with their economy, and it was 2020, when both of them were left jobless.
Before they became homeless, her mother-in-law had offered them her house, but when the family really became homeless, she was nowhere to be found. She backed up from her porposition. They lived in a van for four months, then found a place at a homeless shelter.
Her sister-in-law was making unplesant faces when they offered her money to use her shower, and was talking meanly towars her. The OP explained that the father of her SIL was dead four years ago, and she was living with her inheritance.
After a while, the family had save them from their situation, and fixed their finances. Herself, her husband and their three kids had built a house together, and they started their own business. They didn’t received from anybody else, and built their life altogether from the scratch.
As time passed, it was MIL, who was in a bad shape, economically. Her retirenment was taken away from her, as she was a slow worker, and she was working at a part-time job. And she was close to being evicted from her place.
At noon, she went to her son’s house and talked with her daughter-in-law that if she could stay with them if she is evicted. OP laughed at her face, as she said that she has no chance of staying with them.
Then her husband, looked at her mother, as he was supporting his wife. Then they stated that she caused her grandchildren to witness incredibly hard times, and how could she ask to stay with them after her terrible grandparenting.
MIL left the place crying, as the SIL had called them, and said some bad words at them.
The Redditors who reacted to the story stated that having a fight in family is not a good thing, but MIL deserved what she lived. One of the Redditors had stated, “Let SIL deal with mommy dearest. Seems a fitting end for them all,”
Another Redditor said, ” If your husband agrees with you there is nothing mean about it. She chose not to help you. SIL can take her in,”
