MAN FOUND HIS FATHER’S TRAILER ON HIS BACKYARD
Mark was working hard, as he was having financial problems. Once they were good, economically. His wife and himself had decently paying jobs, until 2008. His wife lost her job, as she was working as a chef, on a restaurant that was shut down. And since he was left with an incredible amount of morgage alone, they were struggling.
As his father had passed away in 2019, his belongings was left to his brother Jim. Mark was struggling still.
Jim was from the second marriage of Mark’s father. He was 20 years younger than Mark. As the company and the house were from his second marriage, and his wife, Mark had wished that his father would leave him something.
His father had an old trailer, where they were going on vacations together, when Mark was young, with his parents. They had travelled across the country with that trailer.
As two years had passed from the death of his father, Mark saw the trailer on his backyard. He called his brother Jim and asked, “Jim, what’s going on? You left the trailer here?”
His brother was annoying. “The old man wanted you to have that piece of junk,” he said and added, “And it’s taking up space I need. So you take it and throw away your own trash!”
Mark was saddened by his brother’s words. “Jim, why can’t we be friends?”
“You ask me why?” Jim responded.
“He loved you more than he ever loved me, he spent more time with you on that stupid trailer than he ever did with me. Tha’s why!”
As he put the phone down, he walked towards the trailer, where it was filled with his memories from his childhood.
As he sat on the bad, he had found an envelope in the bed. There was $60,000 in it, with a recipe to his father’s chowder. Also, there was a note from his father.
“My dear Mark, this recipe and the memories of the good times we shared are all I have to leave you. I hope this money will come in handy. It’s not much, but it may help to smooth your way. Remember me. Daddy loves you, Mark.”
As he was crying, Mark rushed towards his wife, as he said, “That’s not bad…”
“It’s not the millions that Jim got, but it will help. You can sell that old trailer too. That should bring in a little more money.” Sally said to Mark.
Mark didn’t liked the idea.
“I’m not selling my dad’s trailer! That’s out of the question!”
“Well I don’t want that piece of junk just sitting in the front yard!” Sally said.
As he was looking at the old trailer, he came up with an idea. “Sally!” he cried. “Come here! I have an idea!”
Sally asked, “What is it, Mark?”
“You know how you always said you wanted your own restaurant?” Mark said, as he was pointing the trailer, “There it is!”
“Are you mad?” Responded Sally.
“No! Listen, we transform that old trailer into a mobile restaurant/ food truck. We make that amazing clam chowder of my dad’s… We’ll paint it bright, happy colors and string up lights…”
“That could work, if we can afford the licenses…” Sally said.
After a while, they had created a new restaurant for Sally, from the old trailer of his father, named, Pop’s Chowder.
Not long after, their business went straight up, and they started to give franchise, and there were many food trucks of Pop’s Chowder, across the country.
As they had received huge success from their business, Mark had called and invited his brother Jim one day. As they ate the chowder from the recipe of their father, the brothers had made peace.
