LEGENDARY FOOTBALLER, SIR BOBBY CHARLTON HAD PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 86

Sir Bobby Charlton, had passed away, at the age of 86. For long years, legendary footballer had fought against his dementia, and with his passing, Sir Geoff Hurst is the only alive squad member of the team that brought World Cup of 1966, to England.

As it is reported, Sir Charlton, had passed away in peace, as he was with his family.
As in the statement his family had released, it was written, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sir Bobby passed peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was surrounded by his family. “
“His family would like to pass on their thanks to everyone who has contributed to his care and for the many people who have loved and supported him. We would request that the family’s privacy be respected at this time.”
As Manchester United had paid tribute to their legendary name, Sir Bobby, they had stated,
“Manchester United is in mourning following the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton, one of the greatest and most beloved players in the history of our club.”
“Sir Bobby was a hero to millions, not just in Manchester, or the United Kingdom, but wherever football is played around the world.”

“He was admired as much for his sportsmanship and integrity as he was for his outstanding qualities as a footballer; Sir Bobby will always be remembered as a giant of the game.”
“His unparalleled record of achievement, character and service will be forever etched in the history of Manchester United and English football; and his legacy will live on through the life-changing work of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation.”
“The club’s heartfelt sympathies are with his wife Lady Norma, his daughters and grandchildren, and all who loved him.” The club had said for their legend.

England national team had stated that he was a, “true legend of our game,” as David Beckhan added, “truly a national hero.”
“It all began with Sir Bobby. Sir Bobby was the reason I had the opportunity to play for Manchester United… “ David Beckham once said.
“I will be forever grateful to a man I was named after, someone I looked up to and was a hero to many around the world not just in Manchester and our country where he won the World Cup in 1966,” he had paid tribute to Sir Bobby, from his social media account.

“A true gentleman, family man and truly a national hero… Today isn’t just a sad day for Manchester United & England it’s a sad day for football and everything that Sir Bobby represented… “
“Our thoughts go out to Lady Norma, their daughters and grandchildren x Rest in Peace Sir Bobby x @manchesterunited @england Today our hearts are heavy.”
His teammate, Sir Geoff Hurst has stated, “We will never forget him & nor will all of football.”
Prince William had stated, that Sir Bobby was “a true great who will be remembered forever.”
“Sir Bobby Charlton. First Division Champion. European Champion. World Champion. Gentleman. Legend. A true great who will be remembered forever. Thank you Sir Bobby. W”
After their win over Brighton, the boss of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola too had paid tribute to the legendary name.
“On behalf of the Manchester City family to his family, to the Man United family and for England football – these type of football players and personalities represent English football like no-one else can do it.” Guardiola said.

“’So condolences from all of us, for his family especially. Next week when we go to Old Trafford, we’ll be present to make a first tribute.”
“I love this country for many things, but one of those things is how they take care of the legends of each club.“
“They are part of the club and they travel and they represent them. I think Sir Bobby Charlton represented United and English football like no-one else.”
Michael Carrick too had spoke about losing the legendary Sir Bobby.
“My mind went back to the moments I shared with Bobby – an inspirational character and such an iconic figure, you don’t always get those in world football.”
“In a Manchester United family, he cared so much about the players, the club and showed nothing but pure support for us in his blazer and suit. He was proud to show what it was about to play for Manchester United and pass that on.”
“He had an incredible career and to be in a position to be humble enough to pass that on to support the players, when he could have just been a figure, is so inspirational.”
Wayne Rooney had stated, “I’m still in shock”, as he was emotional after their loss against Middlesbrough.

“I saw his image on the big screen at the start of the second half and didn’t know what was happening. He was a legend but more importantly a great human being.”
“He was always great with me during our many conversations about football and different things in life. He was a huge inspiration to me and a lot of players at United. It is a loss to football and his family.”
“I have huge respect for what he went through. He experienced the Munich air disaster in 1958. Then he won the World Cup in 1966 and the European Cup in 1968.”

After his diagnosis with dementia, Sir Bobby, had left appearances on public, from 2020, to his death.
England had released a statement, after Sir Bobby’s passing that read as, “It is with a heavy heart that we have learned of the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton. An integral part of our 1966 FIFA World Cup winning campaign, Sir Bobby won 106 caps and scored 49 times for the #ThreeLions. A true legend of our game. We will never forget you, Sir Bobby.”
Once, Sir Alex Ferguson had talked about Sir Bobby, back in 80th birthday of the legend, he said, “Success can change people, and it’s never changed Bobby Charlton. He is what he is: quiet, shy and I think it’s fantastic.”
“An example for anyone who enters football. He has never forgotten his roots. That girl Norma has been his rock, all his life. She’s an unbelievable person and that is a great partnership.”
“I think he was responsible for me getting the job at Manchester United. We used to go to games all the time — although I don’t think Bobby enjoyed my driving! — so it was a great introduction.”
Sir Geoff had added, “Very sad news today 1 of the true Greats Sir Bobby Charlton has passed away.”
“We will never forget him & nor will all of football… a great colleague & friend he will be sorely missed by all of the country beyond sport alone. Condolences to his family & friends from Geoff and Judith.”
