The famous TV host, Joy Behar had married two times. Behar had made her name with The View, when she joined to the show in 1997, as she was one of the original panelists. She had married with a man who was seven years younger than herself, which she waited for a long time to get married.
When it was 2013, Behar was fired from the show, but in 2015, she was hired back. She had stated once, “I was glad to be fired. I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why.”
As Behar stated that she had no clue why they let her go for two years, and why they had hired her back, which she said, “That was very stupid of them. But they learned their lesson.”
Behar is still blessing our screens with her appearance on the show, and as she had explained in 2022, she has no intention to leave the show or retire. Behar had explained that time which she had signed a new contract, and she will appear in the show, where she said, “I have no plans to retire.”
“I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”
Behar had celebrated her 81st birthday on the October of 2023, where her co-stars of the show had celebrated with her. But she explained that she doesn’t like making big celebrations, as she revealed.
At that episode wher her birthday was celebrated, Ana Navarro shared that Behar doesn’t talk about her birthday, and Sunny Hostin stated that Behar was not excited about it. Then Behar explained as, “I can’t get excited. I’m just glad I’m alive, okay? You know, you get to a point where you wake up in the morning and say, ‘I’m still here, my God'”
Also, Behar had celebrated her anniversary with her husband, Steve Janowitz. The couple had married on the August of 2011, after 29 years of relationship.
After her wedding, Behar had spoke in ABC News, and when she was asked that how was it felt to be a bride, Behar shared, “Do I look like a brushing bride to you? It’s been 29 years.”
And she said that she also doesn’t feel like in her honeymoon either, when she was asked. Behar explained that she only married to her love, after being in a loving relationship for almost three decades.
Behar also shared their secret for a long relationship as, she stated that both her husband and herself are not sensitive people, so whatever they went through, they didn’t took it personal.
She also credited her husband as a man with a sense of humor. For the start of their relationship, Behar hide the fact that she was a comedian, to not scare off Janowitz.
“We waited so long because I had been married before, and I didn’t really see the point.” Behar explained the long years of not marrying with Janowitz.
“We did it for the sex,” she then joked. And she continued that she needed a person to be there “emotionally and legally” for her, if something happens to her.
“At this point, it’s really paying off,” Behar said about her marriage on 2021, after 12 years of marriage with Janowitz.
Behar has a daughter, Eve Behar, 1970, from her previous marriage with Joseph Behar, from 1965 to 1981.
Behar also a dotting grandmother. When she was at the Anderson Live, on the November of 2011, she had talked about her son-in-law, Alphonso Scotti, her daughter, and their son, Luca.
Behar’s daughter is working on her handmade ceramics which are pieces of art. She had shared a picture from the time her mother and her husband had visited her art opening, from her social media account.
