HUSBAND HAD LEARNED THE AFFAIR OF HIS WIFE FROM THE BANK ACCOUNT, AS HE WAS DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN

The husband had shared the story of his wife’s affair, as he was away from home, deployed in Afghanistan. The devastated man had shared his story on Reddit’s r/survivinginfidelity.

The army man had stated that the bills were on auto payment, as he was deployed, he was checking the bank account from his phone to see their balance on their account. The man stated that he was just checking the accounts to make sure that there are no problems, since his wife was working on the local military base, as she was taking care of their children.

As he was checking out, he saw that there were too many dinners from outside, but he thought that it should be normal, with his wife’s work tempo, she would occasionally eat out with the children.

As he was scrolling through the account, he saw that there was a plane ticket bought for the other side of the country, to a touristic location. It was scheduled for the next month, as he seen, but there was a problem. He was not going to go back to the country for another six months. As he think of it, he couldn’t find a reasonable thing for the trip, so he asked about it to his wife.

She first asked that how he know that, since she didn’t bought the ticket online, as she was not aware that debit cards movements can be seen online, she had explained as, “mental health retreat with some of her female CO workers.”

OP stated that why they never talked about it, since it would be a big conversation to leave the children without a parent, and went to the other side of the country. Then asked about the who would be the carer of the children, and his wife stated that their 16-year-old neighbor will care for their children.

The husband stated that if she leaves his children to another children he would call the CPS, and then she agreed to let her mother stay and take care of the children. She wanted a child to stay over the children, since she wouldn’t receive questions about her trip.

Then his wife said to her mother that she was going to a business trip, as he lied to her mother too. Without any remorse the wife went to that trip.

The husband couldn’t reach to his wife, a day before her trip, and called his mother-in-law. Then he learned that her wife left a day earlier, and rented a room at the airport hotel. It was unusual as the OP stated.

As he expected to see a hotel charge on the bank account, he never see one. His wife was at the vacation for a week, and not a single hotel payment were on the check of their account. There were only two charges at the account, but no more.

As she was in her trip location, she never called her husband, and never contacted him. So OP asked for pictures so he would be happy to see his wife enjoying herself, but there were no pictures either.

Then he decided to check her phone logs, and there was one number that was unknown to him, which she spoke a lot. And the calls had started, while he was still in the US, in another state.

Then he asked for the names who she went there with, and his wife stated that only one friend came with her, and the rest backed out on the flight day.

He felt that his wife was panicking. She only give her a random name, no lastname, no department. She thought that it would be enough.

Then he talked about the phone logs that he found. And he stated the name of the person that who the number belonged to, which was the father of her affair partner. He talked about the phone calls when he was still in the US too.

As he continued on his confronting his wife, he couldn’t take it more and hang up. On the next day, he talked with an officer on the US, and found out that there were no woman named with the name his wife had given to her, positioned near her location.

Then his wife had called and admitted that only his male co-worked had attended to the trip, so that was why she had lied to her husband. And when he asked for other women’s names, she once again couldn’t give any.

At that moment, he stated that the name of the person, and the owner of the phone has the same last name, and that she was a cheater, and he wanted a divorce. As she immediately went back home, she started using their children to make their father forgive her.

As he returned to US, he went his home to take some clothes, as his wife tried to bed him, since in their state, it meant that it would reset the divorce period of twelve months. In order to stay with him, his wife suggested one sided open marriage, as she let her sleep with anyone he wanted, and she would stay with him, but the OP stated that there is one condition that would make him consider, and that was the true, open answers, for whatever question he asks.

Then she had told him the whole story, as she filled it with lies that her husband had caught, but not said, since he wanted her to finish her story.

Then she asked him that she would cut her ties with everyone except her family, than the OP was okay with it. And as OP was on the way with his children to New York, he found out that his wife was in a restaurant.

As his wife thought that he was out of the town, and wouldn’t know, she decided to continue with her affair. Then OP drive back to their home. As he arrived, he saw a man running down the street, and his son said, “Isn’t that Tom.”

At that moment he realized that his children had met with her affair partner too. He got divorced, and took the full custody of his children. Even after their divorce, his ex is still trying to find a way to get back together with him.

As many Redditors had made comments about the incident, all of them felt bad for the man, as he struggled a lot as he was in Afghanistan.

Many of the Redditors had praised the husband’s mental health, as he would have done terrible things with the anger and frustration. They had stated that he should focus on his children, and find a way to move on.
