HIS UNCLE LEFT HIM THE INHERITANCE, AS HE LEFT NOTHING TO HIS FAMILY

A Redditor, u/New_Reply_1901, had shared his story with the inheritence of his uncle, at the Reddit’s subreddit, r/AITA.

He talked about the story, where his uncle left no money to his children and wife, while he left everything to his nephew, the OP. This created a drama between the family, as his children were raised with the luxury the wealth of his uncle brought upon them.

27-year-old OP, had stated that his uncle had made smart and successful moves with his company, and reached to a certain wealth with his hardwork. Married with his highschool sweetheart, and had three children together.

The wife of his uncle, was a stay at home mother, who liked to show off with the wealth of her husband, and raised the OP’s cousins, Brad, Jessica and Lauren like herself. They had looked down to the other family members, unlike their father.

As the OP stated for the family, “A lot of us didn’t really care for their attitude and only really tolerated them for my uncle.”

Then when it was 2019, his uncle learned that his wife had cheated on him, and it turned out that none of the cousins were from his uncle, as his uncle confirmed it with paternity test. As his uncle wanted to divorce, since there were no wedding agreement between them, it meant that he would lost his wealth.

The OP explained their relationship after the surfacing of the news as, “according to my uncle, she was basically like either you stay and get over it or I take everything you have.”

As the uncle lost the money to the debit cards, and other debts, he gave most of the money to the charities before he passed, and send $60,000 to OP, as a gift. After the passing of his uncle, he learned that his aunt decided to sell their house, as they went bankrupt, and his cousins are asking for financial aid from everyone. But they do not know that their father send their cousin $60,000.

OP asked that if he should help them or not, since they are not blood related and behaved pretty meanly in the past towards to the family, when they were swimming in the wealth of his uncle.

Here are some of the responses from the Redditors.
