HIS PARENTS KICKED HIM OUT WHEN HE WANTED TO HAVE A DIFFERENT JOB, YEARS LATER HE REFUSED THEIR DEMAND TO MOVE IN WITH HIM
A Redditor, u/OutrageousIndian, had shared his story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. He explianed that his parents kicked him out, when he didn’t wanted to be in a medical career, as his whole family are. Then years later they wanted to move in with him, which he rejected them.
He stated that his whole family is working in the medical area, as doctors. And it is the only acceptable profession in his family’s minds.
When he became 17, he stated that he doesn’t want to be a doctor, as he wanted to follow his dreams as he will try as the OP shared, “an acting career / social media career.”
After he tried to talk with his family, they kicked him, and they lost contact for 17 years. His parents moved to UK and his sister became a doctor too, as his parents wanted. And his brother had a surgery. After the COVID, his parents contacted to him and they reunited. Because his brother found a $750k a year job.
They never asked what the OP is doing, as what he is working on. And he stated that his family believed that he was struggling. As he didn’t followed his acting dreams, he became a successful inverstor, and becae a partner at the bank he was working for.
As his parents had met with him, to house shopping, he chose not to go there with a car, and said that he is prefering walking. As his parents couldn’t affor the houses that were on the north cost of $20 million.
As they decided to continue on the next day before having dinner, he suggested to rest a while at his home, and took his parents to his home.
His parents thought that he was renting a room from the house they arrived, but the OP explained that he owns the house. As OP stated, his parents acted weird as they, “accusing me of lying to them for years and only meeting up to rub their face in my “probably illegally gained” wealth.”
Then his parents stated that they will be live with their son, since his social status was more higher than his sibling. The OP stated, “I laughed at them and reminded them that they can bet on my brother and sister, not me, and that they have a better chance of living with my neighbours than me.”
Then his parents threatened him with cutting him out of their will, and he said that they can’t even buy the house at lower prices than his house, and their will is not his concern.
His siblings had stated that he should have let their parents know of his success, and he said that “they could have Googled me,” as the stated that he has a LinkedIn account.
