HER STEPSON HAD DESTROYED HER BABY DAUGHTER’S FORMULA, AFTER THEY DID NOT LET HIM HAVE A PARTY
A woman, Redditor with the username, Some-Issues3765, stated that she send her stepson away, to his mother’s house, after he flushed the OP’s daughter’s formula down the toilet. The OP shared that her husband is travelling a lot due to his job. And OP is a stay at home mother, who is attending to her 6 months old daughter.
Some days ago, OP’s stepson, Thomas wanted to host a party for his teen friends. OP and her husband had talked about the issue, and decided to refuse Thomas’ party. After that, Thomas threw a tantrum at them, and stated that he already send invitations to his friends, but OP and her husband stated that it was his fault to invite people without talking to them.
OP shared that her stepson refused to eat for two days. And on the next day, OP found out that her daughter’s formula was missing. As she looked at everywhere in the house, she found traces of it in the bathroom. As she was suspected, she asked to Thomas, her stepson.
When OP asked Thomas that if he knew anything, Thomas directly admitted that he flushed the formula down the toilet, as a retalliation for not letting him threw his party. OP explained that she did not do anything, as she showed the conversation she had with his father, but Thomas was insisting that she was the problem, as she was manipulating his father.
OP said, “I lost my temper. I told him he should have never touched anything related to his sister and that her food, comfort, health is where the line is drawn.”
Then Thomas stated that he did not wanted to hurt his sister, he only wanted to hurt OP through her sister. Then OP stated that she had enough with the irresponsible behaviours of Thomas, and told him to go and pack his stuff and get ready for the road, because he was going to his mother’s house.
After he left Thomas at his mother’s house, she talked with his mother to punish him since what he did was unacceptable, the mother told OP off. Then, OP said that she will talk with her husband, and Thomas’ father would punish him. Thomas’ mother begged her not to talk with his father, and the mother offered to pay for the formula.
As OP went back home, the mother kept messaging her that she is manipulative, and she is trying to turn Thomas’ father against him.
Then OP talked with her husband, Aaron and explained what happened. Aaron went livid, as he stated that he understand why Thomas’ mother was not responding to his calls. OP shared finally, “I felt cornered and unable to figure out how to deal with the situation. But like I said, Aaron’s ex wife has a history of lying for herself and son to get away with everything she and Thomas do and also it’s pretty clear to me now that she’s been using Aaron’s absence to her advantage.”
A Redditor commented as, “He’a clearly learned how to play his parents against one another, and it’s utter bullsh*t that his mom says you can’t discipline him because you’re not his parent. You should sit your husband down the minute he returns and straighten this out with him. If you don’t have the authority to discipline him, then Thomas doesn’t come to your house while your husband is traveling.”
