As it can be varied, taking a shower, or cleaning yourself is an important thing in most of the cultures of the world. As there can be debates about how many showers should be taken in a week, one man has another idea.
Persian man, Amou Haji, did not take a shower for 67 years. And he had stated his reason behind his choice.
The man who is living in Iran, Haji, was a hermit, and he is not taken a shower for more than six decades.
Haji is living at the village named, Dez Gah in Iran, and was born in 1928. Amou Haji is his nickname, which means, Old Man.
As people on the village says, Haji had suffered from a heartbreak, and he is living in that way because of it. He is living out of the village, in his cinderblock home.
He is only caring for his hair and beard, and if you call it “care.” he is burning the parts where he feels which are got too long, and due to that, his skin is white with the ashes of his body hair.
He is about to be 94, and even with the lack of hygiene in his life, he lived incredibly healthy. It is also stated that there was a rumor, which the old man was afraid of water, but it should be mentioned that he is not afraid while drinking the water.
It should be noted that the old man is drinking more than four liters of water in a day.
The old man is scavenging his food. Sometimes people offers him food, but mainly, he is using his own ways to find his food. People suggested that the old man is picking roadkills, especially porcupine. And also another rumor is suggesting that he is eating them raw, without cooking.
The people also stated that the old man has a pipe from animal dung, and he lows smoking cigarettes. He has this iconic picture, where he was smoking three cigarettes at once.
The man passed away at the age of 94. Before his passing, the villagers had convinced him about taking a shower, and few months later the man passed away.
A doctor from Tehran University of Medical Sciences School of Public Health, Dr. Gholamreza Molavi had tested the old man before he passed away, and he did not found any health problems, even with his lifestyle.
But due to his roadkill eating habit, the old man had trichinosis, a parasitic food-borne disease.
