FOUR BOYS LOST THEIR LIVES ON THE ROAD TO THEIR CAMPING TRIP, THE FINAL HOURS OF THE BOYS
16-year-old Jevon Hirst, 17-year-old Harvey Owen, 17-year-old Wilf Fitchett, and 18-year-old Hugo Morris, lost contact with their parents, as they had went to their camping trip as their group of friends, on Saturday, last week.
It was the Sunday morning, when they had contacted with their families for the final time, then their parents lost their contact with them, and went to inform the authorities. After fourty-eight hours, the car of the boys was found overturned, submerged in the water, while the boys were inside, deceased.
On the Saturday night, the boys had slept on Snowdonia, and were supposed to return to their homes in a short while, but they never did. And after the families couldn’t reach to the boys, they had went to the authorities.
For fourty-eight hours, the authorities had searched for the boys with helicopters, and the help of Coast Guard. As it turned out that a binman had seen the car of the boys, and with his directions, the officers had found their car which was overturned and submerged in water.
Mr. Williams, who is the owner of the camping site the boys had stayed, revealed that, “It was brutal on Sunday. There’s always a foot or two of water in the ditch, but it can come up to six feet, the level of the car. It was bad on Friday and Saturday; the river had gone high quickly. But by Tuesday morning, the level had come down. They were so unlucky. They could have hit a tree or a fence and gone in another way.”
People who saw the boys before their passing, had stated that the boys were happy, laughing and living happily.
“They were happy, laughing and joking around. They were arguing, saying, ‘I can’t afford this, I can’t afford that. But they all seemed to be in a really good mood.” Said Lucy Jones, from Premier Foods in Harlech, where the boys had shopped from.
