On the 9th of December, Mama June had announced the passing of her daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, who was diagnosed with cancer, and lost her battle with the disease.

She tried to show her brave side to the family, but when she was alone with her husband, Eldridge Toney, she was showing her true feelings. She was vulnerable with him.

Mama June announced from her social media account, after her daughter’s passing as, “She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today [sic],”

Cardwell’s husband, Eldridge Toney had stated that his wife tried not to show too much emotions in front of her family, as she wanted to stay strong for them.

Their story started in 2017, after she was divorced from her ex-husband, Michael Cardwell. They were married in the 4th of March, 2023, in Wilkinson County, Georgia.

Now, Toney is the single parent to their daughters, Kylee Madison, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth, which he said, “I promised Anna I would do right by them and make sure they remembered their mama, and that is what I will do.”
