FATHER PUNISHED DAUGHTER, WHEN HE LEARNED THAT HIS DAUGHTER WAS MOCKING HTE CUSTODIANS

A father had shared on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit that his daughter was mocking the custodians, as she stated, she “would rather be dead than picking up gargabe all day.” The father had punished his daughter, when he had learned that her daughter was behaving terribly, and made her clean the bathrooms with a toothbrush.

The father, with his Reddit username, PsychologicalWinner8, had shared that his daughter’s name is Brittany, and as her daughter’s teacher had shared with him, his daughter and some friends of her were caught to their teacher, as they were talking about career options, and were mocking them.
As the teacher stated, his daughter said, “imagine being something like a plumber or a custodian,” and then continued as, “wow, I would rather be dead than picking up garbage and sh*t all day”
Then the teacher had stated to father that a student had heard them and reported them to the teacher, since her father was a plumber, she was offended. As soon as the father heard that his daughter had went too far, he immediately made her apologize from the classmate, who is the daughter of a plumber.

Then the father explained that he made his daughter clean the bathrooms with a toothbrush. The father had stated, “It took about 5 hours total and afterwards, we had a talk about respect and how it’s disrespectful to mock any profession, no matter what it is.”
As he was thinking that he did a good job, in terms of giving discipline to his daughter, his wife arrived. She was mad that he went too far with the punishment, and the father had stated that, “she acted like a brat who believed certain professions were beneath her, and I wanted to humble her.”
The father had explained that normally they are on the same page in terms of punishments, and that is why he took the liberty of punishing his daughter himself.
Another Redditor had commented, “Hopefully, she learns there’s no shame in those types of jobs and takes it with her into adulthood.”
Some Redditors were praising the father’s behaviour to discipline his daughters, as they stated that the daughter had deserved what she had received.
But some other Redditors were against the punishment, as they agreed with mother that the father had went too far.
