FATHER GOT SUSPICIOUS WHEN HIS DAUGHTER HAD STAYED A LOT LONGER IN THE SCHOOL BUS, WHILE OTHER CHILDREN WERE NOT

Single father, Benjamin Bruce, was the both mother and father for his daughter, since his wife, the mother of his child, had passed away. Emily, his daughter, was six years old when she had lost her mother.
As his daughter was the final thing his wife had left to him, his love towards Emily was incredible. She was the purpose of his life.
He tried his best to balance his work life and his life as a parent, so he would spend more time with his daughter.
The parenthood went rollarcoaster, as she hit puberty. Things had changed a lot quicker than he had thinked. His daughter had changed physically, and some boys started to grow their interests towards her, which he became more protective of his daughter.
She was 12, when she had found out that boys were mesmerized with her red hair, and green eyes, that she took from her mother, and loved by her father.
She was focusing on her look, since she had a school bus crush, which she would like to look beautiful for him, which could make Ben ran after those kids with a stick.
His father was the only figure in her life, so she didn’t knew much about making hairstyles. Her father was cutting her hair short sometimes, since he didn’t knew much about hair too.
As he was brushing his daughter’s hair, while trying to be gentle, he sometimes might pull her hair, accidentally.
“Ouch!!!!” She yelled, as he was doing again.
“I’m sorry baby,” Ben said.
“You need to be more gentle daddy,” Emily said.
“Just get rid of it all, your mom kept her hair cropped short and she still looked wonderful.”
“Daddy, I will no longer cut my hair, look how slow its growth is because of how often you cut it in the past,” Emily said.
After a little while, her teacher, Mrs. Flynn had contacted with Ben, as she was having problems in her school.
“That’s right, Mr. Bruce. Your daughter has five tardy notices this week alone. Is there anything going on I should know about?” The teacher asked.
“Nothing is going on. Things have been great at home for some time now and I do release her to join the bus early so I’m sure she makes it to school when others do,” Ben said.
“Did you notice anything going on with her this past week?” Ben asked this time.
“Well, I was running late for class once and I saw her alight from the bus rather late even though she should have been in class by that time. The driver probably knows something about it because only they can access the bus at any time.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Flynn, I’ll get to the bottom of this,” Ben said to the teacher.
Ben decided to follow his daughter on the next day, and found out that the teacher was right, as he noticed that his daughter was staying a lot in her school bus.
As he was thinking that something terrible was going on in the school bus, he rushed into it, and saw that the 40-year-old bus driver, Mrs. Madeline. The old woman was brushing the hair of his daughter.
“Mr. Bruce?” Said Madeline, as she was surprised to see Emily’s father.
“Dad? What are you doing here?”
“Hello ma’am,” Ben said, as he was embarrassed. “Sorry about barging in, but I heard my daughter was getting tardy notices so I came to see why.”
“Oh, well in that case, here’s why,” Madeline said, as she showed her hair.
“I noticed how she seemed to struggle with her hair so I offered to help her brush it every day before she goes to class because she says her rough hair often makes her feel bad.”
“Honey, you never told me this.” Ben said to his daughter.
“I just didn’t want you to worry about it,” Emily responded.
After his daughter had went into the school, Ben had invited Madeline for a cup of coffee. Madeline had cried, when she learnt that Emily lost her mother at the age of six.
Then Madeline had explained that she was a cancer survivor, and happy that she had lived through her sickness, and stayed with her children.
After their conversation, Ben had talked with the teacher of his daughter about the issue, and then Emily was okay at her school.
