DIANE KEATON EXPLAINED HOW SHE DIDN’T WENT ON A DATE FOR ALMOST TWENTY YEARS, AND HOW SHE HAD CARED FOR HER MOTHER AND SISTER THAT WAS SICK
77-year-old iconic actress, Diane Keaton, had a lifelong five decades of successful career. She is still going strong with her job, and has no work with anything that would chain her and limit her freedom.
She was 7, when she had grown interest towards acting. When she saw her mother being the Mrs. Highland Park, she decided that she needs to be on the stage.
But with her succes, and being a strong, independent woman, she had never thought about being married with someone. She had dated with the big names in the industry, like, Al Pacino, Woody Allen, and Warren Beatty.
Recently, in one of her interviews, she had stated that, “I don’t date. Highly unlikely. I don’t remember anyone calling me, going, ‘This is So-and-So, I’d like to take you out.’ They don’t happen. Of course not.”
She stated that she is feeling like she never had a date, when she was asked. Also stated that it’s been more than 15 years, since she had last date.
Her mother was her source of inspiration. For her career and her decision for not getting married.
She is the oldest of her four siblings, and watched her mother as she was the bird that makes home, while her father was on work, all the time.
She watced her mother to sacrifice for her children, and that created a core memory for her, and she stated that she didn’t want anything that would chain her and limit her freedom.
Her mother, sadly, was diagnosed with, Alzheimer’s disease, back in 1993. And she had adopted her first child, her daughter in 1996. And her second child, her son in 2000.
He had took care of her mother, since she had lost her life in 2008, and her brother that passed away in 2021.
She stated that it could be helpful to have a partner to raise her children, but as a single mother, she had a good job raising her children too.
She also talked about how she doesn’t understand that people stating how being older makes people slower than before.
She starts her day as feeding her dogs and horses, and then she goes to her office, to continue to plan rest of her day.
“I live with myself, and I’m hardly iconic. I get up in the morning, and it’s me again,” she said about how she doesn’t know what made her an iconic actress.
She made comments about Al Pacino, as, “magical and entertaining and unique”
