DAUGHTER’S IN-LAWS DID NOT WANTED HER PARENTS AT THE WEDDING, SO HER PARENT’S SOLD THE HOUSE THEY WERE LIVING IN
The OP shared that, as a graduation gift, they bought a house for their daughter Lisa. Her husband, David, found a simple place where his daughter can have her own house, after her hardwork in the medical school.
Few months later from her move in to her house, she called the OP and stated, “Mom, Ric is moving in with me, okay? We’ve been together for a long time, and I think it’s the right move.”
As OP was excited for her daughter, her husband was thinking that they were rushing things, but he did not said much about it. In the end, OP and her husband had helped Ric, the boyfriend of their daughter to move in.
At the engagement party of her daughter Lisa, and Ric, OP and her husband, David met with their in-laws. They started to talk about the wedding, as Lisa wanted the help of her parents about the subject.
As David was handling the barbecue, he and their younger daughter, Leah went inside to take the chickens for the barbecue. But they came out after a little while later with empty hands, and as pale as possible, which shocked the OP.
David said, “Ellen, we need to go home. Now.”
As her husband was not that kind of a man, OP was certain there was something wrong, because he wouldn’t exaggerate anything. So she thought that there is a huge problem. OP and her husband lied that Leah wasn’t feeling good, and they left.
At the car, her husband and younger daughter talked. They stated that they heard the in-laws talking in the kitchen about not inviting OP and her family, but they were going to try to convince them to pay for the whole wedding.
OP stated that she was shocked, and she thanked god that she was not driving, since she would have crash the car.
She went to her daughter’s house on the next morning to talk with her. She saw that her in-law’s car was on the driveway. She knocked but no one responded. She saw them through the window.
Their in-laws were acting as if they were the owners of the house. As OP kept knocking the door, Ric’s mother had opned the door slightly, and said that they are not invited to the wedding, because they were manipulative over Lisa.
The mother said, “Your family is just too different for us,” to OP, and contined, “Lisa is like us now. Let us take over. But we’ll send you your part of the bill for the wedding.”
The woman also stated that Lisa invited them to stay, so they were living together at that house now.
OP immediately went back home, and called Lisa to inform that the house was still registrated under her own name. She gave them ten days to leave, because she informed that the house was on the sale.
They sold the house immediately. Just to give them a lesson. Her daughter Lisa is still engaged with Ric, and she is now living in a small apartment near the hospital she is working. OP stated that she doesn’t know where the in-laws are residing currently.
After they sold the house, they used the money to get a car for Leah.
