DAUGHTER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE WEDDING OF HER FATHER AND HIS FIANCE, DESPITE SHE GOT BOUGHT A DRESS AND SHOES FOR THE OCCASION
A teen woman shared her story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. She stated that she bought her dress and shoes for the wedding of her father, as she was in a very close relationship with him, she learned that she was excluded from their wedding, due to their child-free wedding policy, as she was 17 years old at that time.
She explained that she is staying with her mother, but she is close to her father, as she close with her mother. Their relationship didn’t changed too, when her father met with his fiancee, Anna. She explained that she had no problem with Anna, and they always had great time.
A few weeks prior to their wedding, her father and Anna wanted to talk with the OP, as they explained that they are doing a child-free wedding, and that meant that she will not be invited in it, as she is not 18 yet. OP stated that she is 17, and as the daughter of her father, she should be there. Then she wrote, “I’m not allowed to be at the wedding because Anna wants to stay true to the child-free rule even for the daughter of the groom and her about-to-be stepdaughter.”
Then OP continued, as she said that her birthday is two days after the wedding. Since the wedding, OP stated that she didn’t talked with her father, or Anna. After her mother learned that her daughter wasn’t invited, she decided to take her daughter to a birthday vacation.
At her birthday, she shared a post on her social media account as she explained the situation about the wedding of her father, and why she was not there, even if she wanted to be in it. She wrote, “I’m so glad my dad and Anna didn’t allow me at their wedding since I was under 18 I feel more mature since yesterday.”
Her family had asked her that if the things she said was true, and after learning that she said the truth, they had bashed her father, which led her to receive calls and texts from her father and Anna, regarding the post, and their accusations that she is immature indeed.
