Frances was born to parents that was incredibly famous. Sadly, her father, the iconic Kurt Cobain, had took his own life when she was just 1 years old.
Before he took his own life, in one of his interviews, he had stated that being a father to Frances was an incredible experience, as he stated, “It’s wonderful. It’s great.”
He had joked that he was teaching his daughter to how to act like a rockstar. As he was not around to teach her any further, his old bandmates had stated at that time that Frances was the spitting image of her father.
Frances had spoke about her father’s suicide on 2015, for the first time. She had explained how shocked her father’s bandmates were when they see that how she was resembling Cobain, and stated that, “You are doing exactly what your father would have done.”
As he was written a final note for his family and friends, he had stated for his daughter to Courtney Love, “Please keep going Courtney…For her life will be so much happier without me. I love you…”
For her father’s passing, Frances stated, “…he felt…everyone would be happier without him…in reality, if he had lived, I would have had a dad. And that would have been an incredible experience.”
She is working as an executive producer for HBO documentary, about the passing of her father, and his life and career.
She had married with Isaiah Silva in 2014, when she was 25, and separated in 2016, as Frances wanted a divorce.
Their divorce finalized in 2018, and then the fight to get her father’s iconic guitar that he played on MTV’s Unplugged, began.
Her ex, Silva had stated that Franced had gifted the guitar to him, and the judge approved this. Even though Frances had denied the claims, she had lost the guitar of her father.
As she had struggled, she found love with Riley Hawk, son of Tony Hawk. They had married this month.
Her godfather, frontman of R.E.M., Michael Stripe had officiated their wedding ceremony that happened in Los Angeles.
