Rene also was his manager too. They knew each other since Dion was 12. It was Rene who discovered Dion, when her mother had sent a demo to Rene.
Rene had taken a mission to make Dion a famous singer. He was in a pop-rock group, The Baronets, when he was in Canada. As he left his band, he became a manager.
Between 1966 and 1972, Rene was married to Denyse Duquette, and from 1974 to 1980, married to Anne Renee.

Dion had revealed that thanks to Renee, she had learnt to write songs, play instruments and read music.
They had an age gap of 26 years between them, and kept their relationship hidden, as they started it when Celine was a teenager. Dion had stated about their relationship that, “It was like bang! Love! Love always wins,”
They married in 1994, and had three children together. In 2001, Rene-Charles was born, and in 2010, their twins, Nelson and Eddy came.

As she was continuing on her career, she had to stop when her condition, Stiff Person Syndrome got worsened. She had postponed her tour to 2024.
“So the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering, I said to myself, he is okay. And he deserves not to suffer.” Celine talked about her husband, Renee.
“I love. I love. I love him. I’m still in love with him. And I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with. So my life is not empty of love.” She added.

With her children, she doesn’t like to be on the screens all the time.
As they had celebrated their birthdays, she had captioned a picture of Eddy and Nelson’s as, “You make me, your big brother and your Dad, who is for sure watching over you, so very proud.”
She had waited eight years to have her twins. She had freezed her embryos, and went through IVF. In 2007, she had tried again for pregnancy.
“We kiss him every night. We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons, and we send the balloons to the sky.” She said.
