One of the greatest names of the Hollywood, Cameron Diaz, had the fame and success that many would only wish. She had starred in many projects that were the top of their time.
But since 2017, she didn’t appeared on any other project, as she was retired from Hollywood, as she had revealed.
As she had talked in many interviews, she revealed that leaving Hollywood, was one of the best decisions she ever had.
In her career, as the US box office is suggesting, the movies she worked in made, $3 billion. She is the fifth-highest-grossing actress of all time, who was nominated for four times to Golden Globe.
As she was the highest paid actress in Hollywood, who is over 40, in the 2010s, after she had starred in three movies in 2014, she had stopped her career, and decided to be with her family, as she wanted.
Diaz had married with Benji Madden, and received her daughter, Raddix, via surrogate in 2019.
“I just decided that I wanted different things out of my life,” Diaz said to Gwyneth Palthrow.
“I had gone so hard for so long, working, making films and it’s such a grind. I didn’t really make any space for my personal life.”
“When you’re making a movie, it’s the perfect excuse. They own you,”
“You’re there 12 hours a day for months on end. You have no time for anything else. And I realized I handed off parts of my life to all these other people, and they took it. And I had to basically take it back and take responsibility for my life.”
To Kevin Hart, Diaz had said in an interview, “When you do something at a really high level for a really long period of time, there’s a lot that — when you’re the person who’s sort of delivering on this one thing,”
“You’re the person on the screen, you’re the person who’s ‘the talent’ — everything around you, all parts of you that isn’t that, has to be handed off to other people.”
As she was away from the Hollywood, she had published two books, The Body Book and The Longevity Book.
She has no problems with leaving her career as an actress behind, and Hollywood, as she might make a comeback for one particular movie, and then leave again.
As it is known that Jamie Foxx and Diaz has good relations, she had accepted to be in the movie, Back in Action, with Foxx.
To Rachel Ray, Diaz said that, ““I took the time, I met my husband, we got married, built our family, built our homes—all those things that take a lot of focus,”
“That’s still my priority. I wasn’t certain at the time whether I could do both, [but] it just turned out that at this point in time, it’s a really nice thing for my family.”
A source who is close to Diaz stated that, “These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix,”
“Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.”
