As Moynahan had stated that she never imagined that she would be a single mother, she had raised her son, 16-year-old Jack. In her interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2008, Moynahan had stated,
“I think it’s important to have a strong male figure in my son’s life, and I want something equal to that in my life, as a partner, a lover, a friend.”
“I’m a traditional girl, and I believe in marriage, and I always thought that’s the way I’d be doing this. For a moment, it was hard for me to accept that this was the way I was going to have a family.”
Moynahan was dating with Brady, when it was 2004, and they had separated their ways on 2006. As their relationship was famous, their breakup went viral too. After a few months, Moynahan had learned that she was pregnant with Brady’s child.
But at that time, Brady, and his now ex-wife, Giselle Bundchen had started their relationship. It was in 2007, when Moynahan welcomed her son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas.
Afterwards, she had commented on welcoming a child, as she was a high profile target for the media. “I’m not sure anyone – and I could be wrong in this – grows up thinking, I want to be a single mom.”
She was stressed about raising her son alone, she was scared, but she had believed herself.
On the other hand, Bundchen had gave birth to Brady’s child in 2009, and ten months later, his daughter, Vivian was born. The couple had separted on 2022.
Budchen had commented about the pregnancy of Moynahan as, “two months into our relationship, Tom told me that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant. The very next day, the news was everywhere, and I felt my world got turned upside down.” In her memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life.
Moynahan was afraid, and stressful that her son would read terrible allegations about his parents, as he would grew, since they were viral at that time, and continued as, “Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me.”
It was 2019, when she had published her book, Our Shoes, Our Selves. In her book she had stated, “Having a baby should have been the most joyous time of my life, but instead, I felt assaulted.”
She had stated that she was terrorized, as she was stalked and followed, after her separation from Brady. She tried to remove herself from the public, as she was scared.
Brady once said in his appearance on the Howard Stern Show as, “I didn’t want to have kids or get married until my late 30s. That was the plan.”
For the start of his relationship with Budchen, Brady stated that it was hard, since Moynahan had revealed that she was carrying his child, and they had a rough start.
But, Moynahad had stated, “There’s not a second I regret having a child on my own.”
As she became a mother, Moynahan stated that her focus had changed, and she started to see what is important an what is not, as her son was the most important thing for her.
“I have become that mother I used to dread. Every time he does something, you think he’s a genius. He’s a genius.”
Then she added that she is done dating with younger men then herself. “I have a date with a much younger man. And I swore I’d given up younger men.”
Moynahan married with Andrew Frankel, which they met through their mutual friend. As she gives importance to her privacy, there are not much pictures of her with her husband.
Her stylist, Basia Zamorska had stated, “Andrew proposed to Bridget in April 2015, on a romantic getaway in Puerto Rico,”
“The diamond is set east-west, exactly what the bride has always wanted.”
The couple had married at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, New York, in 2015. Instead of wedding gifts, Moynahan wanted from her guests that they would donate to The Hole in Wall Gang Camp, an organization that is aiming to help young people who are suffering from cancer and other serious blood diseases.
She had her dream wedding with Andrew Frankel. Her designer, J. Mendel had created a perfect wedding, as she dreamed, and her dress.
She wanted a rustic theme on her wedding, as a farm-style table to feast from and a guitar playing in the background. Then the DJ came, and people had danced for a while.
Her fans were amazed with her wedding, and look.
“The dress is gorgeous. So happy for you.” said a fan.
The couple didn’t had any children, but mixed their families, as Frankel has three children, and Moynahan one.
“My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it’s cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love.” Moynahan said.
“My heart explodes when I think of him. He’s the greatest kid you could ever ask for,” Brady said about his oldest child, from Moynahan.
Bundchen also commented about her husband’s other child from Moynahan as, “He made my heart expand in ways I didn’t know was possible,”
