AS SHE WAS 55 WHEN SHE WELCOMED HER FIFTH CHILD, BRIGETTE NIELSEN IS HAPPY TO BE A MOTHER
Nielsen metwith Mattia Dessi, in 2004, in Switzerland. Nielsen was 41, while Mattia was 25 at the time. Their relationship was shown at VH1’s show, Strange Love, at the beginning.
The couple married in Malta, when it was 2006. Nielsen stated that many people criticised her when she had a relationship, and married with a much younger man than herself.
As people talked about their relationship, they had no problem with their age gap, as Nielsen said, “It just fits perfectly. We’re a good team,”
As they are now married for more than 20 years, Nielsen stated that they are excited to be together, and respect each other, as she explained, “You shouldn’t ever try to change the person you fell in love with to ‘make them better.’ Allow them to be them.”
She explained that she doesn’t need to have a younger look to be with her husband, as she is in her 60s, but doesn’t feel like it. But she stated that she doesn’t know what the future will bring, as she doesn’t know what will happen in her 70s.
“That’s when gravity really starts pulling everything down,”
Together with her husband, they have one kid, 5-year-old Frida.
As she tried to get pregnant for 13 years, via IVF, she had her daughter, Frida in 2018. She stated that she longed for so long for her daughter, as she was happy that the IVF worked.
Her doctors stated that she had low chances on conceiving, as they stated that it was not more than 2.5%, she was sure that she wanted to take her chances.
But she later revealed that, it was the easiest pregnancy she ever had, since she had four other children besides her fifth child, Frida.
As she married five times, she had four sons. 28-year-old Raoul Meyer Jr., 30-year-old Douglas Meyer, 33-year-old Killian Gastineau, and 39-year-old Julian Winding. Her sons stated that she was old for having another kid, and it was dangerous, but she didn’t listened to anyone, and welcomed her daughter, Frida.
About the criticism she is faced about her pregnancy at old age, she stated, “Look at Robert De Niro. He’s 79, and he has a 7-month-old,”
“I have the patience and that extra bit of love to give now, and I think it’s because I’m a grandmother’s age.”
She stated that many people wouldn’t endure the pregnancy at her age, and her rough journey was not everyone would accept. But she revealed that she is happy with her decisions.
