AN OLD WOMAN LET A HOMELESS MAN RESIDE WITH HER, AND ONE NIGHT, HE GOT INTO HIS ROOM

Pat was at her 70s, as her husband and her son passed away in a car crash. So she was alone. It was painful for her to suffer the loss of her husband, Jonas, and her son, Josh.

Her family and friends had gathered at her house to comfort her, and to give them a proper ceremony as they deserve it.

Pat cried a lot, as she was grieving over the loss she had suffered. As she went to the church for the ceremony, the pastor, John Sunders had said to her, “Glad to finally see you out and about Pat,”

“Glad to be here pastor,” Pat said.

“I never got to thank you and Sally for coming around constantly to comfort me and see that I have everything I need.”

“Don’t mention it, Pat. In fact, I’m sure Sally would be offended if she heard you thanking us for something as trivial as that,” John said.

“I miss them so much,” Pat said, as she break the silence.

“I know, but these things must needs be. God has a plan even if we can’t understand it.” John answered.

“I’ve been trying to accept that but losing them both at the same time really had me questioning my faith. In truth pastor, I am here to remedy that.”

They had talked for many hours, as people had gathered at the church, for the ceremony.

On one of the Sundays, she had seen a homeless man on the church.

“Oh him? He’s an orphan who’s been having trouble finding a job because of health problems,” John had said, as Pat asked about the lonely man.

“That’s quite sad; he is a rather good man and I feel terrible for him. If there’s more I can do, please let me know,” Pat said.

“Well, since you’re asking. I’ve had him sleeping in the storage area this whole time, but as you know, that place is not very hygienic and is open to the elements — I’m sure he would appreciate having a warm and dry place to lay his head at night.” John said.

“Oh John, you should have asked sooner. You know I have spare rooms in my home and any believer in need is welcome to them.” Pat responded.

Then she had met with the 21-year-old young man, Joseph, and agreed that she would move in with Pat, as he needed a shelter.

As the things were going great, at one night, she woke with some sound in her room. She had seen the shade of a man that was in front of her room, Joseph.

She was scared that something wrong was going to happen, so she had acted like as if she was asleep.

As she was incredibly scared, Joseph had came closer to her, and take something from his pocket, and left it on the other pillow of Pat’s bed.

As he left, Pat had opened her eyes and saw that Joseph had left a pendant for her. Then the morning came.

“I found the pendant you left me,” Pat said to Joseph.

“You really thought I wouldn’t figure out it was you who crept into my room in the dead of night to place this under my pillow?” She asked.

“Not so Patty,” Joseph said, as he was shocked.

“Look at you, red as a tomato — you don’t have to leave if you can’t afford to yet,” Pat added.

“Thank you for the pendant.”
Joseph said then, “It used to be my mother’s. She’s gone but you remind me of her so I would love you to have it… This angel will be your guardian like you are a guardian to me, Miss Gibbons.”

Pat had hugged Joseph and cried, as she got emotional with his answer, as Joseph had talked about his late mother.

As she lost her husband and her son to an accident, she had found another young man, who became a son to her. The rest of their lives were happy, as Joseph was an honest, and hardworking young man, to his new mother, Pat.
