AFTER THE COLLAPSE OF BALTIMORE BRIDGE, WIFE SHARED A HEARTBREAKING MESSAGE
The terrible incident happened on Tuesday, when a 985-foot-long container vessel got collided with the Baltimore bridge, and caused it to collapse. Eight construction workers were on the bridge when it collapsed and two of them were rescued alive. Six construction workers from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador were missing.
Later, US Coast Guard stated that the missing people were presumed dead as they finished the rescue attempts.
49-year-old Miguel Luna, a father of three and a husband, was among the missing construction workers on the bridge. Luna was from El Salvador, and for 19 years, he was residing in Maryland.
His wife talked about how devastated she was about her husband’s missing, and that she is still hoping for good news.
“They only tell us that we have to wait, that for now, they can’t give us information. [We feel] devastated, devastated because our heart is broken, because we don’t know if they’ve rescued them yet. We’re just waiting to hear any news,” Maria told to Telemundo 44.
Another person was 38-year-old father of two Maynor Yassir Suazo Sandoval from Honduras. He had an 18-year-old son and a 5-year-old son. He was living in US for eighteen years, as his brother, Martin Suazo, stated.
Senior executive at Brawner Builders Jeffrey Pritzker had stated that they are in shock with the unexpected incident. “This was so completely unforeseen,” Jeffrey said. “We don’t know what else to say. We take such great pride in safety, and we have cones and signs and lights and barriers and flaggers. But we never foresaw that the bridge would collapse.”
