AFTER HIS LAST WISH, 5-YEAR-OLD BOY PASSED AWAY IN THE ARMS OF THE SANTA
It is terrible to witness the passing of a child, especially in the clothes of Santa, while trying to help the little boy, who was living through hell.
Co-owner of Packaging Seals & Engineering, Eric Schmitt-Matzen, would wear the Santa clothes, and would went for the events and gigs for fun, every year.
As he was returned to his home when it was 2016, he had a phone call from a hospital in Tennessee. He learned at the phone that a 5-year-old boy, who was terminally ill wanted to meet with santa before he passed away.
Then, Eric rushed to the hospital so he would give the poor boy a gift, and make his wish come true. He met with the mother of the boy, which received the gift the boy wanted, a Christmas: a Paw Patrol figurine.
Then said to family to wait outside, while he went inside. He asked that, because he didn’t wanted to cry in front of the kid, as his family would get emotional.
As he entered to the room, and sat next to the boy, he asked, “What’s this I hear you’re going to be missing Christmas this year?”
And he gave the gift to the boy. But as the boy was opening the wrap of the package, he asked to Eric, “They say I’m gonna die. How can I tell when I get to where I’m going?”
Eric responded as, “When you get up to them Pearly Gates, you just tell them you’re Santa’s Number One elf, and I know they’ll let you in,”
As the boy hugged Eric, he passed away on the arms of Eric, which Eric stated, “He was in my arms when I felt him pass,”
“I spent four years in the Army with the 75th Rangers, and I’ve seen my share of (stuff). But I ran by the nurses’ station bawling my head off.”
After that traumatizing event, people asked Eric that if he still wants to be Santa, he stated that after that day, he went to an event, and remembered why he was doing the job, for the laughter of the children.
“I feel like I have been used and then hung out to dry,”
“I emphasized from the very beginning that I intended to keep my word and not disclose any information that could lead to the folks’ identity.”
“Now I am being made out to be a liar. I tried to do a good deed, was talked into telling the story of what happened to me . . . and now the press is ridiculing me for standing my ground.”
Here is the video of the Eric’s story, let’s watch it.
