AFTER HE GAVE A RIDE TO TWO BOYS WHO WERE SOAKING WET DUE TO RAIN, SAW THE BOYS AT HIS DOOR ON THE NEXT DAY

As David Evans was driving his car back to his home, under the heavy rain, he saw two boys, running under the rain as they were soaking wet.
As he started to approach to the boys, he decided to offer a ride to them, since he couldn’t let the boys get wet under the rain.
David rolled down his window and asked, “Kids, it’s pouring. Why are you still walking in the rain? Why not wait a while until it stops?”
“We really need to get to the city, sir. The bus we were riding broke down along the way, and no one wants to take us because we’re drenched from the rain,” a boy said.

Then the other boy continued. “We don’t have much time left, so we can’t wait for the rain to stop. We really need to get to the city,”
Then, David opened his trunk, and gave towels to the boys, as he invited them into his car, “Get in. I’ll take you to the city,”
As the boys were happy, since they were saved from running under the rain, they said, “Thank you, sir. Thank you so much!”
As they reached to the city, the boys led David to an apartment, and he dropped them there. The boys thanked to David, and went inside of the apartment building.

As David left, the boys saw the he parked his car near them, as one boy said, “He lives nearby,” while pointing the spot he parked his car.
On the next day, David was surprised, when he saw the boys at his doorstep, after they knocked on the door.
“Hi, what a surprise!” David said, “What are you doing here?”
Then the boys introduced themselves, as they wanted to talk about something. Their names were Peter and Adam. “It won’t take long. We just wanted to share something with you,” they said, as they explained they saw that David was living close to them.
As David wanted to learnt what the boys were going to say, he invited them. “Come in, then. Let me give you something to eat while you tell me what you need to say,”

As they entered to the house, and sat to the table with David, one of the boys stated that they were rushing to visit their ill grandmother, “Our mom had been taking care of our grandmother after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness,”
“Yesterday, mom called us up and said granny wasn’t doing well and wanted to say goodbye to us… Because of you, we were able to say goodbye,”
Both of the boys shared their gratitude towards David, as they said, “We were so afraid we wouldn’t make it in time, especially after the bus broke down and the rain started to pour heavily, but it’s as if you were an angel who answered our prayers. You allowed us to see our grandmother one last time. We came here because we wanted to thank you,”

“I’m sorry for your loss, and I appreciate you coming over despite mourning your grandmother’s death. Thank you for dropping by,” David said, as he was feeling sorry for Peter and Adam.
“It saddened me to hear that I was the first person to offer to help you yesterday. I always thought it was human nature to help those we can,”
“I’m glad I was able to help you and that you were able to say goodbye to your grandmother.”
Peter responded as, “We are so grateful for your kindness, sir. If there’s anything we can ever do to help you, we’d be happy to do it. We’ve decided to move into our grandmother’s apartment, so we’ll be closer if you need us,”

Then the boys, Peter and David went on with their promise, and they mowed David’s lawn. They helped David with household chores.
The boys accepted David as their grandfather, and tried to be there, whenever David needed a help. They ate dinners together, and visited each other in holidays.
