ABOUT THE TIME WHEN JULIA ROBERTS HAD PLAYED AS A GUEST ON THE SHOW, FRIENDS, WITH HER BOYFRIEND AT THAT TIME, LATE MATTHEW PERRY
Matther Perry had lost his life at the age of 54, and with his passing, more and more details are surfacing from his life which he talked about in his memoir that was published on last year, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.
One of the major details in his book that his relationship with Julia Roberts.
“She was the biggest movie star in the world, and I was on the number one show on TV.” Perry had stated on his memoir.
“(Roberts) would only do the show if she could be in my story line,”
“Was I having a good year or what? But first, I had to woo her.”
“the only thing more exciting than the prospect of you doing the show is that I finally have an excuse to send you flowers.” he had stated in his book that Perry wanted Roberts to be in an episode of Friends.
“Thus began a three-month-long courtship by daily faxes. This was pre-internet, pre-cell phones – all our exchanges were done by fax. And there were many; hundreds,” Perry had continued.
“Three or four times a day I would sit by my fax machine and watch the piece of paper slowly revealing her next missive. It was like she was placed on this planet to make the world smile, and now, in particular, me.”
Roberts had stated that she was incredibly nervous when she had agreed to play a small part in the show.
“It was utterly nerve-racking,” Julia Roberts had said.
“They’ve brought me a lot of joy in my life. You feel a little giddy you feel a little silly. But it was the most fun, it was spectacular fun.”
Matthew Perry had said about her, in his book, “She’s an amazing person. She’s everything every guy thinks she is.”
“Our kiss on the couch was so real people thought it was real. It was,”
“She was wonderful on the show, and our chemistry seemed to seep off televisions all across America.”
Perry also talked about their separation as, “Dating Julia Roberts had been too much for me. I had been constantly certain that she was going to break up with me. Why would she not?”
“I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unloveable. So instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts.”
Also, as it was stated for Julia Roberts, that she is feeling “embarrassed and disappointed that Matthew has detailed their fling,” in his memoir, she is upset that Matthew had passed away.
