A NEW UPDATE ON MARY LOU RETTON, FROM HER DAUGHTER, THE NEWS THAT WE ALL WERE AFRAID OF
As Mary Lou Retton had hospitalized, and now waiting in the ICU, as she is struggling with a “very rare form” of pneumonia, her daughter had released an update.
On the beginning of this month, she was hospitalized, as she was fighting for her life in the ICU, as her daughter had stated. She was having problems with breathing, as they had announced that, “not able to breathe on her own.”
After a little while, the news about Retton was good, as she had started to recover from her struggle, and as her daughter Shayla had stated, “Prayers have been felt and have been answered,”
“Although she remains in the ICU, her path to recovery is steadily unfolding. Her fighting spirit is truly shining!
“Her breathing is becoming stronger, and her reliance on machines is diminishing.”
But currently, as Shayla, daughter of Mary Lou, had stated that there is a “scary setback.” As she wrote to her Instagram account,
“Basically at the beginning of this week, we were going on the up and up,”
“We were so excited seeing so much progress. And then yesterday, we had a pretty scary setback.”
“She is still in ICU. And we’re just working through some things as far as her setback goes. So I just wanted to give an update there. She had a better day today, which is great. She is just really, really exhausted.” The statement ended.
