A man had shared his story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. He explained that he had a crush on a woman, and finally she accepted his date request. But the things he witnessed in the restaurant, had made him disgust the woman, and left her at the restaurant.
The man had stated that he had a gym crush, which he finally received a date with her, so he booked a table at a Korean restaurant. He asked her that if she is okay with Korean BBQ.
As they arrived at the bar, they sat on their table, and she was shocked with the huge grill that was in front of them. She asked what was this, and learned that they were going to cook their own dinner, and she said, “but why do we have to do all the work? Lol (yes she said lol unironically) isn’t that their job?”, as the OP stated.
Then the OP stated that this was the fun of Korean BBQ. And offered her to change their table to a la carte menu, if she didn’t liked their table. Then she said to the OP, “just make them do it for us,” and called the old lady, who was their waitress.
The OP stated that it got worse, and explained that he was so embarrassed with her behaviour. He said that he is used to servant master relationship, since he was an Indian, but he doesn’t like the idea.
When it was time for the dessert, she wanted to see the menu. The OP explained the situation as, “The waitress comes over and gives the menu and hands it to her. She then waits for her to leave and says “My god this place is a nightmare, all these useless immigrants (shes white) come into the country and don’t even work and eat up our tax dollars. Are they even legal?””
OP was incredibly embarrased, and she continued, as people gave her a bad look, as she noticed that some people from other cultures had annoyed with her talk, she stated, “same goes for these insert racist word for people of Pakistan.”
He was incredibly shocked, and offended. The OP stated, “I’m INDIAN and she used this in front of me.” but things got worsened, when she stated, “oh no I don’t mean Latinos they’re fine. I LOVE Mexican food.”
OP stated that his crush thought that he was Mexican. Then explained that he has an American accent since he was born in the US. But he had enough. After the dessert, he excused himself as he acted that he needs to go to the restroom, went to pay the bill, then left the restaurant.
He gave a good tip for the waitress, and apologized from the place before leaving her alone, in the restaurant. Then he blocked her number. At firts he wanted to switch his gym, but then decided to go there, as if nothing had happened.
The Redditors who read the story had praised man, as he acted wisely to escape from her, and also gave him credit for paying the bill.
