A MAN DID NOT ADOPTED HIS WIFE’S CHILDREN, WHEN HE FOUND OUT THEIR BIOLOGICAL FATHER
A Redditor, with the username u/NoPantsSkypeMeeting, had shared a story in Reddit’s r/IATA subreddit. He had stated that he married with his crush from workplace, who had two daughters. After finding out their biological father, OP, refused to adopt the daughters.
35-year-old OP, shared that he married with his 27-year-old crush from his work place, two years ago. Added that his wife had two children from her previous marriage. As the OP stated, he loves the children, and acted like a father figure at the house, as he sacrificed his free moments for them.
He shared that sometimes he wanted his “lone wolf,” state back, but he was happy with his life in his home. As his wife stated, father of her daughters was dead. And since he was trusting her, he had no questions.
After three months, his wife started trying to convince him about adopting her daughters. She wanted her husband to adopt her daughters for their birthdays, as the daughters birthday had two days between them.
He loved the girls, so he accepted immediately. Then his wife stated that she will prepare the necessary documents, as he stated that he is already their father, and they are just papers.
But as time passed, she changed, as she was hiding her phone, and laptop. She started to use two users in her laptop, which she was switching to another one when she was with her husband.
As he was suspicious of her, he decided to spy on her. Then he found out that her wife’s ex wasn’t dead, and he was in prison. He also learned that the ex husband was paying alimony to her, until he went into the prison. At that time, OP was providing money for her too.
Then he immediately confronted with his wife, as she admitted everything. She explained that she hide it for the good of her daughters, as she put every money she received into the account that she created for her daughters, so when they are 18, they would have good money.
She was sincere about the adoption of her daughters. She swear that nothing happened between her and her ex-husband while she was married to OP.
She said that her ex is “dead” to her, in every terms, as she said that she lied for good reasons to protect her daughters from him. She was also scared that OP would refuse to marry her, if he would learn about her past.
Now the OP is unsure that if he should adopt the girls or not, since their father is alive.
