THE LAST WORDS OF BARBARA WALTERS REVEALED MONTHS AFTER HER PASSING
It was eight months ago, when Barbara Walters lost her life. A book about her was released, “The Rulebreaker: The Life and Times of Barbara Walters,” by the Washington bureau chief for USA Today, Susan Page.
The publisher of the book, Simon & Schuster, stated that the book is a biography of Walters and it will be about the struggles she had. The book will be in the stores in April of 2024.
Also, in the book, Page had discussed the final words of Walters, which were:
“No regrets — I had a great life.”
Before she passed away, she had some health problems that stopped her career on TV, where she was a legendary host. Walters sadly quit her job to recover from her health struggles.
Walters had left her job as the co-host of “The View,” which was airing for 17 seasons. She had many health problems, which she also had chicken pox.
Variety’s co-editor-in-chief, Ramin Setoodeh stated in his book “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View,'” one day Walters collapsed after an episode of the show was over. The stage manager had moved her to a room, and let her rest on the couch while the paramedics treated her.
After her retirement in May of 2014, they aired two-hour primetime special about her career, and she was also honored by ABC, which they named Upper West Side news division headquarters after her.
As the reports are suggesting, her health started to deteriorated before she started to live privately, away from public. She was last seen in public, in 2016.
She was born in 1929, in Boston, and she was raised around many celebrity names, which her father, Lou, had around them. She was graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, with a degree in English.
As it was stated in the book Page wrote about Walters, she wanted to be laid with her family members, at Miami’s Lakeside Memorial Park.
On her grave, her name, the date of her birth and death, and her final words are written.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Dena Danforth, which she welcomed Jackie with her ex-husband, Lee Guber.
