THE $8.7 MILLION NEW YORK CITY HOUSE OF MARISKA HARGITAY AND HER FAMILY IS LIVING IN

The famous actress of “Law and Order: SVU” Mariska Hargitay, has been married with Peter Hermann for 18 years. Hargitay fell in love with Hermann at first sight. They went to a church for their first date, and as it was an unusual first date, Hargitay thought “that’s my husband” when she saw Hermann at the church.

On the 28th of August 2004, the couple got married in Santa Barbara, California. They welcomed their first child in 2006, August. “Nobody wanted to be pregnant more than me. From the minute I found out, I was wearing full-on maternity pants. My stomach was totally flat, mind you, but I was just so excited.”

In 2008, the couple bought their penthouse for $7.1 million, and sold it in 2020 for $13.5 million. And also in 2010, they bought their East Hampton mansion for $7.5 million. The mansion is 11,000 square-foot and has 11 bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool, garden and a guest house.

But the couple is living in their Upper West Side townhouse which they bought in 2010, for $8.7 million.

The long windows of the house are the great natural light source of the house, which the cleverly used mirrors are lightning the house.

Their kitchen is modern looking, and has a massive center island. The first floor also has a rear garden with a barbecue, a dining table and a couch. Through the windows of the kitchen, the back garden is visible.

The second floor the main bedroom of the house , which has floor-to-ceiling windows, a large walkthrough closet, a marble bathroom and a dressing room.

The couple adopted their daughter Amaya and son Andrew in 2011. Hargitay explained that as it is an amazing thing to adopt, it is a rough process where she explained that the situation was not for the “faint of heart.”

As Hargitay said, being in home with everyone is a “happy chaos.” The actress said, “The thing that’s made me a better parent is my kids. Because they taught me to really listen. My husband is my North Star, and my kids are my teachers.”
