A WOMAN WAS SHOCKED WHEN HER HUSBAND WANTED HIS DAUGHTER TO RECEIVE THE FAMILY HEIRLOOM INSTEAD OF WOMAN’S BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER
A woman had shared her story on Reddit’s r/AITA subreddit. She had explained that her husband has her own daughter from his former marriage, as she has her own daughter from her former relationship. And the issue is that her husband wanted from her to gift her step-daughter the family heirloom, which she was thinking to give it to her own biological daughter for Christmas.
The mother had explained that she had married with her husband, Joey, two years ago, and he had moved in with her as he brought his 14-year-old daughter, Sophia.
She stated that her family has an emerald necklace that is passing from one generation to another, and as a Christmas gift, she wanted to give the necklace to her 13-year-old biological daughter, Emily.
She said that Joey was aware that she wanted to gift the necklace to her daughter, as she explained their tradition to her husband. And when the Christmas preperations arrived, they had talked about the gifts, and what they would want to receive.
Her husband, Joey stated that Sophia would love to receive the necklace, as she would feel accepted by her stepmother. He also stated that Sophia had called the necklace, as gorgeous.
Then mother had stated that the idea of her husband had disturbed her, since her daughter, Emily, is aware of the family tradition, and expecting the necklace as a gift at some point. As she talked about the issue with her husband, an argument started.
Joey stated that she is favoring Emily over Sophia, and accused her as being selfish. Then he said that she could get another emerald necklace for Emily, so she wouldn’t feel upset about the incident. Then the mother stated, “I told him that simply wasn’t happening, and that necklace was going to my daughter whether he liked it or not.”
Since that conversation, Joey is giving the OP silent treatment, unless they are in front of the kids. As she talked with her in-laws, they also stated that it is selfish, and she is favoring her biological daughter over her stepdaughter.
